Conversations with Isaac Priest

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaac Priest

Isaac, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up on the Sunshine Coast, a small town on the east coast of Australia, surrounded by beaches and a relaxed coastal lifestyle. From a young age, I was captivated by creativity and storytelling, drawn to the magic of bringing ideas and worlds to life. My passion for self-expression has been the driving force behind my journey.

Today, I’m excelling in both the film and fashion industries, with my careers in both fields growing rapidly. Acting has been a dream come true and a way to connect with people to tell powerful stories that leave a lasting impact. My work in the film industry now extends to producing, where I collaborate to create compelling narratives for the screen. At the same time, I’m establishing myself as a fashion designer and entrepreneur, leading my brands, MACAASI and Isaac James, which allow me to push boundaries and redefine expression. Life has been an exciting and rewarding adventure, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come as both a creator and a storyteller.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a smooth road, but every challenge has shaped me into the person I am today. Balancing two rapidly growing careers in the film and fashion industries has been demanding, often requiring long hours, sacrifices, and navigating steep learning curves. In the beginning, breaking into both industries at the same time was tough. I had to and still have to prove myself, build connections, and constantly push beyond my comfort zone.

There were and are at moments still of self-doubt and financial uncertainty, especially when starting my fashion brand and pursuing acting opportunities simultaneously. Managing creative projects while maintaining business operations added another layer of complexity. Despite these challenges, my passion and drive keep me going. Each setback teaches me resilience and adaptability, and every small victory reminds me why I started this journey. The road hasn’t been easy, and there are still challenges ahead but it’s been worth every step.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m incredibly fortunate to work across two creative fields that I’m deeply passionate about which are film and fashion. In the film industry, I’m an actor and producer, known for my ability to bring characters and stories to life with authenticity and emotion. Collaborating with talented teams to craft impactful projects is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work. In fashion and business, I’m the founder and designer of two brands, MACAASI and Isaac James, celebrated for blending innovation with advancing technologies to create designs that empower individuality and confidence.

I’m known for my versatility, creativity, and dedication in both industries. In fashion, my designs have been recognised Internationally for their originality and craftsmanship, while in film, my ability to immerse myself in roles and contribute meaningfully to the creative process allows me to stand out.

What I’m most proud of is my ability to thrive in these two very demanding fields. Building my fashion brands from the ground up while establishing myself as an actor and producer has been an incredible yet tough journey, and watching both careers grow is something I hold close to my heart.

What sets me apart is my passion and attention to detail. Whether designing a collection, producing a film, or stepping into a role, I strive to create work that resonates with people on a deeper level. Balancing and pursuing two industries, all while staying authentic to my vision, is what makes my journey and work truly unique.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice for anyone just starting out is to stay persistent, trust your vision, and be open to learning. Success doesn’t happen overnight, and challenges are part of the journey. Surround yourself with supportive people who inspire you and believe in your goals. Don’t be afraid to take risks or fail! It’s in those moments that you learn the most and grow stronger.

One thing I wish I knew earlier is the importance of patience. It’s easy to feel like you’re not progressing fast enough, but every step forward, no matter how small, adds up. Focus on improving your craft, stay consistent, and trust that the results will come. Most importantly, enjoy the process. It’s not just about the destination but the journey that gets you there.
