Today we’d like to introduce you to Ezrah Lockwood.
Hi ezrah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am an East Coast native and life long musician. I began playing clubs and bars before I even had a drivers license. I soon found myself immersed in the the rave scene which is when my connection with synthesizers and technology really took off. I went to school in NYC studying audio engineering by day and performing live electronic music and DJing by night. I eventually packed up and moved to LA with no real plan. I was in multiple bands with a variety of genres, from rock and roll to heavy metal to electronic. Throughout I concentrated on building my recording studio little by little and honing my chops as a producer. Currently I am focusing on my main project the band Night Of The Hunter on San Diego based label Curious Electricity.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Ha! No I dont think any musician has ever had a smooth road. Poverty, tense interpersonal relationships and all manner of disasters are just part of the deal. However the exceptional people and camaraderie along the way not to mention the Los Angeles hijinks far outweigh the struggles.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a multi-instrumentalist and producer specializing in dark dance music for sad people. Right now, I’m proud of my vinyl LP release of my band Night Of The Hunter titled N.O.T.H. on Curious Electricity. I’ve been busy producing remixes as well as collaborating with other artists on remixes of the album. Of course, the most gratifying thing is performing live. I think most of us spend our lives craving that connection with a live audience. There is nothing quite like it.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
