Conversations with Erin Gavin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Gavin

Erin , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
This year, I’ve poured my heart and energy into my career. Life always throws challenges our way, but it’s through facing and unraveling those challenges that we grow stronger. In this process, I’ve learned so much about my strengths and weaknesses—and the importance of growth.

One of the biggest revelations for me has been discovering my passion for filmmaking. This year, I wrote, produced, and directed my first film, and the entire experience felt like pure magic. So many amazing people came together to make it happen, and the result has been beyond my wildest dreams. The film has already won two film festivals, been a finalist in four, and selected for eight in total. It even had its own theatrical run and is now Oscar-qualified. To have my very first film reach this level is surreal—if we get nominated, I’ll be on cloud nine!

On top of that, my music career is also taking an exciting turn. My latest song, Hollywood, is dropping this week on all major platforms.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’m great at pursuing my career goals with determination, but that drive has often caused some chaos in my romantic life. Between constant travel and the intense focus my work requires, finding a balance has been a real challenge. It’s something I’m actively working on, though.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Here’s a more humble and refined version of your message:

One of my earliest and proudest achievements was earning my black belt in martial arts. Coming from a modest background, I’m particularly proud of starting two businesses at just 18 years old, both of which are still thriving today.

I always knew I wanted to act, so I took a leap and moved to Hollywood on my own in my twenties. I had the opportunity to play Marilyn Monroe in several hit plays, a film, and a series, which led to being recognized as the actress who portrayed the icon. It was a whirlwind experience that I’m grateful for.

Along the way, I’ve also produced successful plays and films, with one even being Oscar-Qualified. My music, though self-funded, made it to the Top 10 charts, and we’re still gaining momentum. In fact, my latest song is featured as the lead track in a film.

I’ve always had a deep passion for helping others, especially those experiencing homelessness. It’s close to my heart, and I do what I can to make a difference. My next goal is to create a larger movement to help in my hometown, starting small and hoping to grow from there.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Being in my Grannys house with my family during the holidays. Family is no 1.
