Conversations with Elijah Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elijah Jones.

Hi Elijah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started with watching as many movies as I could to get inspiration from actors and performances that I admire. I jumped into a class in Hollywood to learn about acting techniques and how to apply them. My teacher Adam Lazare-White really helped me to lay a foundation for my work and sharpen my skills.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My road so far has had its ups and downs. I would say the main obstacle is working through rejection. There’s auditions that you don’t get or feel you didn’t perform your best in. But for me I feel that it’s important to stay confident and motivated.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an actor. I’d say I specialize, or at least am more focused on film acting at the moment. Though I’d love to do some theatre at some point in my career. My career is still fairly young but I’d say I’m most proud of the role I played in an episode of The Rookie last year because it was the first audition that I booked. I think what sets me apart from others is my competitive spirit and my desire to fulfill the purpose that God has for my life.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is my relationship with God and with my family. The support they give me is the biggest reason that I’m able and motivated to succeed. Every member of my family has shown me nothing but love and encouragement in my acting journey and it means everything to me.
