Conversations with Earvee Cruz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Earvee Cruz.

Hi Earvee, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my career in beauty pretty young, doing makeup for friends in high school for proms, graduation photos, and events. After graduating, I focused on becoming a full-time makeup artist while working part-time at Lancôme, and eventually started sharing my creativity online through beauty, fashion, and personal style.

Since then, my career has grown to include content creation, modeling, and touring as an HMUA for incredible artists and brands. I’ve never wanted to put myself in one box, so I continue to explore everything that inspires me! From writing and fashion to building my own brand. I’ve really just followed my curiosity, taken risks, and let my career evolve naturally.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh definitely not! Starting this career so early specially during COVID era, meant that it was super inconsistent. I’ve had to get so many part time jobs to sustain my life! It truly takes passion to keep going outside of monetary rewards. On top of that, we are constantly changing and evolving our beauty standards, There’s been times I’ve pulled up to set, being asked to do a look, and I’m sitting there like “HOW am I gonna pull this off?” so It’s important to advance your skills and learn more, always!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a model, a beauty creator, and an HMUA. I’m mainly known for my beauty content across all platforms, But I think each skill of mine integrates to the other. As a model I have an advantage of being able to do my own hair and makeup and changing my own looks up. As a Beauty creator I have credibility as an HMUA. And more recently, I’ve progressed my career into being a touring HMUA – I think that’s what’s helped me also, being able to do both, so that artists just have to travel with one. That’s been a main selling point on being able to go on these tours!

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
There’s so many things I can say, as I truly live an abundant life. However, lately, I’ve been finding the most peace with having slow mornings. I’ve had a crazy year full of traveling and work – that slowing down to smell the roses has finally made sense to me. There is nothing more luxurious than time being yours and yours only!
