Conversations with Christopher Ghamssari

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Ghamssari.

Hi Christopher, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Turtle Laughs is a guitarist and musician known for his distinctive finger-tapping guitar style, blending intricate technique, rhythm, melody, and percussive elements into a unique musical voice. Rather than simply playing guitar, Turtle Laughs approaches the instrument as a complete musical canvas, using both hands to create layered melodies, bass lines, rhythms, and textures simultaneously.

Driven by a passion for pushing the boundaries of the guitar, Turtle Laughs continues to develop his own sound and identity as a finger-tapping guitarist. His music reflects a combination of technical precision, creativity, and an experimental approach to songwriting and performance, creating an experience that is both musically intricate and accessible.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road. A lot of learning curve in learning how to record ones self and applying the hours needed to get the right sound and mix. It gets discouraging after playing so long and thinking every song you really put all your time and soul into just gets looked over with a quick thumbs up and no real recognition. You just have to keep moving forward. I love writing music but once in a while its nice to be noticed and when you feel like you are not noticed long enough, it can be quite difficult to continue and easy to stop working on what you love and easily get your attention sucked into other endeavors of life

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am finger tapping guitarist that uses a delay effect that gives a very calm and epic vibe with the music in goal to be enjoyable from an age range from 0 years old to 120 years old. I am proud of how far i’ve come with all the networking i’ve made, people in music i’ve worked with, and now seeing my music slowly but surely make its way around the world. Getting into being able to audio record mix and master and having enough knowledge to do video edits as well has surely been a great help.
I believe my music is not only easy on the ears but is visually impressive because of the finger tapping. The music itself may not seem very difficult or complicated and “shred” like but when you see that I am mainly playing the guitar like a piano that spikes peoples interest.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Never burn bridges
You never know who knows who that will be the stepping stone to your success
Slow down but never stop
and if keep swinging in the dark, eventually you will hit something
