Today we’d like to introduce you to Aleyna Yalcin.
Hi Aleyna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Istanbul, and dance has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I trained in many different styles, always chasing that feeling of expressing myself through movement. My very first connection with Los Angeles was back in 2014, when I came to the Joffrey Ballet School’s Jazz & Contemporary program—it was the first time I truly experienced LA’s energy, and it planted the seed for the dream I’m pursuing today.
A few years later, I began sharing my journey online, and to my surprise, my community grew to over 60K people across Instagram and TikTok who connected with my story and my style. Over time, that encouraged me to expand internationally, spending more time in Los Angeles for training and projects while continuing to create and perform in Istanbul.
It hasn’t been easy—building a career in such a competitive industry requires resilience and patience—but I truly believe in discipline, consistency, and turning obstacles into fuel. Today, I’m focused on growing as a professional dancer and content creator, mean while also teaching and performing when opportunities arise. My vision is to be recognized worldwide—not just as a dancer, but as an artist who inspires others to be fearless in going after their dreams.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but I see the challenges as part of what makes the journey meaningful. In dance, there are always auditions that don’t go your way or projects that shift unexpectedly, and those moments taught me to adapt quickly and stay focused on my growth.
Spending time in new environments also meant learning how to build connections from scratch, which pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me stronger both as an artist and as a person. Instead of letting those obstacles discourage me, I used them as motivation to train harder, refine my craft, and keep moving forward.
Every challenge has reminded me why I started dancing in the first place — because of the joy, the passion, and the power of expression. And that’s what keeps me motivated no matter what.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in dance and performance, and I’ve always been drawn to versatility. I trained in multiple styles growing up, but what people know me for today is combining powerful, feminine energy with precision and storytelling. I love creating performances that not only entertain but also empower — that’s a theme I carry into both my stage work and my digital content.
Beyond performing, I’m also a content creator with a community of over 60K followers across Instagram and TikTok. I’ve been proud to collaborate with major international brands such as Nike, Levi’s, Estée Lauder, and Tecno Mobile, as well as being part of high-profile concerts and music projects in Turkey and abroad. One of my proudest moments was starring in the music video for Edis’s hit song “Arıyorum,” which has reached over 260 million views on YouTube — a project that allowed me to bring my performance to an audience on a global scale.
What sets me apart is that I’m not only a dancer, but also a storyteller. I share both the glamorous and the real sides of being an artist, and I think that’s why my audience connects with me. I bring the discipline of years of training, the heart of a performer, and the perspective of someone bridging two worlds — Istanbul and Los Angeles.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that talent alone isn’t enough — consistency and discipline are what truly build a career. There have been many moments when things didn’t go as planned, whether it was an audition, a project, or just the natural ups and downs of pursuing an artistic path. What kept me moving forward was showing up every single day, even when it was hard.
I’ve also realized that comparison is the biggest obstacle to growth. In such a competitive industry, it’s easy to measure yourself against others. But the moment I shifted my focus inward — embracing my own style, story, and vision — everything began to align. Staying authentic and trusting the process has been the greatest lesson of all.
