Community Highlights: Meet Ryan Bantu of Gods & Mony

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Bantu.

Hi Ryan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
For over two decades, I lived and worked as a Hollywood producer. My creative energy was spent building narratives, selling products, and shaping personas that—if I’m honest—didn’t always matter in the long run. What kept me going was the craft of finding the emotional thread, the human element that could make people care. That skill fulfilled me for a while. But eventually, life humbled me in a way I could never have prepared for.
My mother was preparing to move closer, ready to spend more time with me in Los Angeles and with her three grandchildren. She was a radiant, grounded soul—the kind of person whose presence made the room brighter. When her cancer diagnosis came, we were devastated but determined to fight. Nine months later, she was gone. Losing her didn’t just break my heart—it shattered my sense of direction. My world stopped, and I had to ask myself: what now?
In the months that followed, I chased opportunities but couldn’t commit to anything. Deep down, I knew that whatever I poured my energy into next had to mean something. It couldn’t just be about money or status—it had to honor my mother’s legacy and stand as my own.
During that time, I reconnected with an old friend who became much more. She reminded me of my own creative fire. She challenged me to dream again, not just for survival, but for impact. That spark gave birth to Gods and Mony—a lifestyle brand built with no limits, grounded in purpose. The name itself—“Glory Over Discords, Many Only Know Why”—was both a mantra and a mission: to rise above struggle and leave behind something meaningful.
With Gods and Mony, I set out to create a new category in men’s care. Not just grooming, but Resonant Grooming—products that help men look sharp, smell unforgettable, and carry themselves with presence. I wanted to fuse quality with bold messaging, transparent motives, and a vision for brand extensions that will outlast trends. This wasn’t about vanity—it was about self-respect, energy, and power.
Today, Gods and Mony is available direct-to-consumer and in some of Los Angeles’ most trend-forward boutiques. We’re preparing to launch our Faces of God influencer campaign and expanding with a more youthful brand that complements the established line. But for me, this isn’t just business—it’s healing. It’s a way to transform grief into creation, to channel my mother’s spirit into something that elevates people every day.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When I look at the faces of some of the titans across industries, I now recognize the toll it takes to build something meaningful in this world. For Gods and Mony, that toll has often come in the form of relationships. Some were lost because of my relentless pursuit of near-perfection, others because of ego—mine and theirs. One of the hardest lessons I’ve learned is that not everyone close to you wants to see you succeed on a large scale.
In many ways, my success became a clearing house—it revealed who was really for me and who wasn’t. That process was painful, especially as I ascended to a new level and realized I often had to go it alone.
Like any growing brand, Gods and Mony has faced logistical challenges, and capital is always a concern. But what has kept us relevant and resilient is our in-house marketing, our clear messaging, and the loyal following that connects with the deeper mission behind the brand.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
