Community Highlights: Meet Luis Marcano of Od. Luis Marcano

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luis Marcano.

Hi Luis, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am Dentist Luis Marcano.

On social media, I am known as Od. Luis Marcano.

That is because “Od.” is an abbreviation for Odontólogo, which translates to Dentist in English.

​I graduated as a Dentist in 2006, and my training and private practice have been dedicated to dental prosthetics and Aesthetic Dentistry.

My professional training includes courses with Dr. Milko Villarroel, renowned throughout the continent, and Dr. Armando Tabet from Spain, among many other great professionals who have contributed to my clinical practice.

​Today, I have a YouTube channel and social media presence under the handle @odluismarcano, where I focus on informing the public about dentistry in an accessible language based on scientific evidence.

In addition to having my website OdLuisMarcano.com for many years now, all of this is driven by the goal of providing quality information to the public.

To that end, although I speak in Spanish on my YouTube channel, I enable subtitles in English and dozens of other languages, because I believe the internet is a fantastic tool for bringing information to every corner of the world.

Nowadays, I carry out my professional practice and record the videos for my channel in Caracas, Venezuela.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My career challenges have perhaps been shaped by the dynamics of my country, Venezuela.

​However, I have had the great fortune of having access to training with internationally renowned dentists (such as Dr. Milko) and I have always had access to the best dental materials from countries like Germany, Japan, and the USA.

​This is in order to always provide the best dentistry to my patients.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Regarding the characteristics of my clinical practice:

I always strive for dental care focused on the best results for the patient.
I practice dentistry based on scientific evidence.

I leverage YouTube and social media to deliver quality dental information to people.

I continuously update my knowledge and training to always bring my patients world-class dentistry.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me as a dentist is providing my patients with treatments that work best for them and last the longest over time.

I also want to give them care where they feel comfortable in my office, because I believe the service experience is also important to people.
