Community Highlights: Meet Leanna Pascascio of Anew luxury

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leanna Pascascio.

Hi Leanna, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was raised in Bellflower CA and attended Bellflower High school. I graduated in 2015, undecided on what career path I wanted to pursue. I was advised by family to study a career in Nursing to secure a foundation. I knew deep down that was not the career for me. Being active on Instagram, I was inspired and intrigued to be a business owner! Even though I was not clear on the vision, I knew I wanted my path to lead me to business.

After realizing I did not know what to pursue in college,I joined the work field bouncing from three different retail jobs until I landed a job in security. I stayed in security for 2 years until I started to feel like i hit a dead end. I knew security was not the job to attain the lifestyle I envisioned.

From there I started to do research on careers to go back to college. When I stumbled on being a Licensed Esthetician I knew that i was ready for the journey!

I began the Program at Cerritos College in 2019 not knowing the world would shut down right before graduation. My class and I graduated on Zoom in 2020.

After finally being Licensed in 2021, I was hired at European Wax Center as a Wax Specialist. After working there for 3 years, I experienced a pay cut with the workload that drained me. I knew then it was time to make another decision. I decided it was time to go out on my own and finally pursue my dream of being a business owner. Owning Anew luxury has confirmed my true dream.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a rewarding road!

The main struggle I deal with is The Belief of Self. Transitioning from being an employee and following orders, to being in charge of yourself and your business operations Is a challenge! It requires time management skills and discipline and many other skills. I no longer just clock in and clock out. So exercising my confidence muscle has been struggle but rewarding

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Anew Luxury is a waxing and skincare studio that helps women and men between 18–45 struggling with ingrowns, hyperpigmentation, and scarring. We specialize in waxing, intimate bleaching, and targeted skincare treatments that promote smoother, more even-toned skin. What sets us apart is our focus on results, education, and creating a safe, welcoming space where clients feel confident and cared for. I’m most proud of how the brand empowers people to feel good in their skin—our services go beyond beauty, they’re part of self-care and self-improvement.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I like best about our city is the diversity! There are so many different cultures and areas to explore. You can find a new restaurant or vibe everyday. I also love all the different foods of course. My least favorite is the traffic
