Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaniesha Armstrong.

Hi Kaniesha, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
As a little girl I was always into different hair styles and the versatility of hair. So naturally Growing up and all my cousins are doing hair for each other I wanted in on the action and they told me if I wanted to get my hair done I had to exchange services so I learned and the creativity in me blossomed. What started off as me just trying to get my hair done turned into something that I would eventually feed my family with. I attended beauty school and graduated may of 2024 & I now have been a licensed cosmetologist for 12 yrs and I’ve tried many things corporate salons, booth rentals & I realized I was limited my potential & I wanted to build my own brand, be my own boss so BEAUTY BY EARS was born July 2024.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t say it’s been smooth, but it also hasn’t been horrible either. As a business owner, you are now HR you are now the person who orders inventory you’re the person who schedules your appointments. You are the person so if you don’t go and advertise your business and put your name out there, no one‘s gonna know who you are unlike corporate salons, like great clips and things like that they already have a multimillion dollar brand. Many people know about them even if you don’t frequent those salons you know of them. I also learned with being a business owner, there’s always a lesson and everything even when things don’t turn out exactly as you planned

Licensed cosmetologist with 12 years of experience. I Specializing in natural hair care ,natural braided styles, haircuts on all hair types & all men’s grooming needs , 8+ years of Clipper cutting experience. At beauty by ears your satisfaction is our highest priority, we offer a private luxury salon experience because everyone deserves a little luxury pampering at an affordable price. I do service children, men, woman and boys

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there the worst they can say is no, so show up to those events, even if you’re not a vendor network , pass your card out if you make connections with one person and that one person shares your card with five people you now have six new potential clients that now know about your business and your brand! Word-of-mouth is everything so network. scared money don’t make money
