Hi Jacinda, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into weddings began the day after I graduated from the University of South Carolina, when I started a wedding blog. I was drawn to the stories behind each celebration and the way thoughtful details could make a day feel deeply personal. What began as a creative outlet grew into a career in wedding planning in 2019.

Over the years, I became a certified wedding planner and built my business into J’Adore Jay, a wedding planning and design company based in Charlotte. Today, I work with couples in Charlotte, Charleston, Atlanta, and beyond to create celebrations that feel romantic, intentional, and true to who they are. I still bring that same curiosity I had as a blogger to every wedding: I want to learn a couple’s story, then help them celebrate it beautifully while feeling fully present for the day.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. When I started, I had the passion and the vision, but I was still learning how to run a business. I had to figure out everything from pricing and processes to how to reach the couples I most wanted to serve. Building a business while working another job also meant finding time and energy for both.

One of the biggest lessons has been learning to trust my own vision. Rebranding my business as J’Adore Jay was an important step in creating something that felt more aligned with who I am and the experience I want to give my couples. There have been moments of uncertainty along the way, but each challenge has helped me grow more confident as a planner, designer, and business owner.

J’adore Jay is a wedding planning and design company based in Charlotte, North Carolina, serving couples in Charleston, Atlanta, and beyond. We offer full-service planning, partial planning, wedding design, and wedding management for couples who want a celebration that feels beautiful, personal, and effortless to experience.

I specialize in modern, romantic weddings with an editorial feel. But the heart of my work is getting to know the people behind the celebration. I want the design to tell their story, the planning process to feel supportive, and the wedding day to give them the freedom to be fully present with the people they love.

What sets J’adore Jay apart is the balance of creative vision and attentive planning. I care just as much about how a wedding feels as how it looks. The thoughtful details matter, but so do the clear communication, preparation, and calm presence that allow a couple to enjoy them.

Brand wise, I’m most proud that J’adore Jay feels true to me. My love of Parisian style helped inspire its identity, while the experience we offer is grounded in warmth, intention, and genuine care. I want readers to know that a wedding can be sophisticated and deeply personal at the same time. Creating space for both is what we love to do.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I would say my ability to listen. Wedding planning is deeply personal, and the most meaningful details often come from conversations about who a couple is, what they value, and how they want their guests to feel. Listening closely helps me translate those conversations into a celebration that feels true to them.

It also helps me be a steady presence throughout the planning process. Couples trust me with an important chapter of their lives, and I want them to feel heard, supported, and confident from our first conversation through their wedding day.
