Community Highlights: Meet Dr. Ed Masangkay, Chiropractor of Masangkay Chiropractic Corporation

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Ed Masangkay, Chiropractor.

Hi Dr. Ed, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Inspired by my older sister and brother in law who are chiropractors as well, I knew once I graduated Agoura High School in 1995 it was the beginning of my journey to become a Doctor of Chiropractic. After graduating from Cleveland Chiropractic College of Los Angeles in 2000, I opened my own private practice in 2007 after gaining knowledge and experience from my family and colleagues.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think with any small business you will have some ups and downs, but if you stay persistent with the goals that you want to achieve it will all pay off at the end. Imagine starting your own business and shortly after a global recession hits, that’s what I experienced in 2007. Fast forward when the pandemic in 2020 occurred, luckily my practice was already established at that time, but I really felt for the newer business owners and the challenges they had to endure. That’s why it always feels good to support small businesses because I know the journey and the sacrifices it took to get there.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
As a chiropractor I believe the human body has the power to heal itself which we call innate intelligence, so my job is to make sure my patients are in the best position to do so. I do that with chiropractic adjustments, stretching, exercises and other hands on techniques to help reduce pain, improve movement and support overall function. I’ve been specializing in car accidents cases, sports injuries and wellness care for over 2 decades now. Taking the time to understand my patients concerns and creating a treatment plan that is comfortable and appropriate for them is important to me. Helping patients improve their quality of life without medication and surgeries is always the goal.
