Today we’d like to introduce you to Yuval Maayan
Hi Yuval, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Im a musical producer and a songwriter, originally from Israel. I started playing the drums in school and slowly went through the classic emo drummer kid phase of being in a lot of bands. In high school I got i to producing beats on fruity loops and started writing my own hooks on the beats. I came across country music and fell in love with it and with its songwriting when I was 19, and that really made me put an emphasis on my songwriting. When I was 24 I went to school in Nashville for audio engineering at the famous Blackbird studios. I came back to Israel and slowly built my career from the ground up. My first big breakthrough was with an artist I found called Yasmin, who’s now one of the biggest female singers in Israel. I kept making more and more hits over the next few years, and finally made the move to LA in 2024!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was everything BUT a smooth ride! After finishing school in Nashville TN, I had to go back to Israel, I was heartbroken, but I knew that I have to become successful in order to go back to the US and continue pursuing my music career here. So I had to build something out of nothing and succeed, and I did! The only problem was, that by the time I did get my big break, covid hit, and the whole world was shut down to what seemed to be forever at the time. So I took it as a chance to build a catalogue of hits in Israel, and years later when the time was right, I made the move back here
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a songwriter/producer. People would say my specialty is making tailor made music for every artist, considering where they are in their career and life, whats happening in the music world and more. My strength is being a really sharp A&R, with the ability to understand whats the next song the artist needs in their career, and then actually writing and producing it and following through. Thats why I am known for launching and reigniting a lot of big careers, I know how to read the market, see where the artist should be placed in it, and then write and produce the song that will complete the picture.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I had 3 people that really changed the course of my career. My first manager Itay Haruvi, that recognized my talent at the beginning and helped me connect important dots in a phase where it’s nearly impossible t to do. An artist called Mergui, which is basically Israel’s Justin Bieber, who put his faith in me and my skills based only on his taste and gut feeling, and helped push me and my art into spotlight in the most crucial moments in my career. The last person is my current Israeli manager Maya, who helped me leverage everything I did to new heights and to a much bigger and continuous success.
