Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanya Scott.
Hi Tanya, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I built my outdoor Pilates studio during quarantine. After the second shutdown of all gyms and studios, the studio where I worked closed and sold her equipment. I bought a Reformer and found a contractor to build a deck with a gazebo and bring my dream to life. An outdoor home Pilates studio. I’ve been seeing clients for 3 1/2 years now. At the time, there were no vaccines yet and outdoors was the only place to work out. Luckily, we are in Southern California, and we can be outdoors all year round.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been pretty smooth with your usual bumps in the road of starting your own small business. I’ve managed to find what works and what doesn’t work, handle financial abundance and struggle, and go through the seasons of change.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Pilates instructor and a home studio owner. Pilates is amazing. It’s a method of exercise you practice to strengthen, stretch, and move from your core. I see you where you are in your body and cheer you on in your uniqueness as I guide you in your Pilates practice. I encourage you to show up for yourself and take care of yourself with healthy and safe movement. I honor your commitment to your practice.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the access to nature and the outdoors all the time in Santa Monica and LA. The traffic sucks!!
