Check Out Olya Aman’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Olya Aman

Hi Olya, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It’s 1986, and in the cozy nooks of Belarus, yours truly, Olya Aman, makes her grand entrance into the world. But my story didn’t follow the usual script. At the tender age of three, I lost my father to a fishing accident. Despite this early sorrow, my spirit remained resilient, finding warmth in the embrace of my family and the simple joys of village life.

My childhood wasn’t all doom and gloom. Sure, there were some tears, but there were also plenty of giggles and adventures in our tiny village. You see, I’m a firm believer in finding joy in the little things, like chasing chickens and playing hide-and-seek with the neighbor’s cat.

Now, fast forward a bit, and you’ll find me strutting my stuff across the stage of life. After graduating from some fancy-schmancy Belarusian schools with degrees in English arts and theatrical and film mastery I set my sights on the land of opportunity: the good ol’ U.S. of A.

It was in the bustling streets of America, that I stumbled upon my true calling – writing and acting. A fellow actor tripped over my scribbles and sketches, and before I knew it, I was knee-deep in scripts and stage directions. I’ve never looked back since!

Alongside my partner-in-crime, Medet Aman – who’s got a knack for making me laugh till my sides hurt – we’ve been cooking up some cinematic and family magic.

But before I dive into my Movie escapades, let me introduce you to the real stars of my show – my two rambunctious boys, aged 10 and 7. They’re a handful, let me tell you, but they’ve got hearts of gold and enough energy to power a small country. Who needs a gym when you’ve got kids, am I right?

Back to the dailies: our short film, “The Final Stop,” is currently racking up awards faster than you can say “red carpet.” We’ve been gallivanting across various film festivals, hobnobbing with the glitterati and rubbing elbows with the best of ’em. Who knew my little scribbles would take me this far?

So there you have it, folks – the whirlwind journey of yours truly, Olya Aman. From orphaned beginnings to award-winning filmmaker and proud mama bear, it’s been a wild ride filled with laughter, love, and just a hint of chaos.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
You see, for a good chunk of time, my family set up camp in the charming city of Madison, Wisconsin. 12 years to be exact. Now it makes 13 that we are married. My husband Medet (insta @medetaman_) is from Kyrgyzstan. We met in Madison, and … well that is a STORY TO TELL. To make it short – he proposed on the first date, it was the worst date I ever had – we got married in a month.
Madison – the cheese curds, the lakes, the snowstorms that make you question your life choices – it was an adventure, to say the least!

But then, like a plot twist straight out of a Hollywood blockbuster, we decided to uproot ourselves and head for the glitzy streets of Los Angeles. Talk about a change of scenery! Life in LA wasn’t exactly a walk in the park – more like a stumble through a maze of palm trees and traffic jams. But we’re a resilient bunch, and we were determined to make it work.

So, armed with nothing but our dreams, we dove headfirst into the world of filmmaking and all things artistic. Medet directs for others, and even holds a sound booth for some; I’m still ghostwritting for many, we both are into basically every creative endeavor under the sun to make ends meet. And let me tell you background work on movie sets became our bread and butter – there’s nothing quite like rubbing elbows with A-listers while trying not to trip over your own feet!

So, as we navigate the glittering streets of LA, we do so with a twinkle in our eyes and a spring in our step, knowing that every audition, every script, every gig brings us one step closer to our big break. And who knows, maybe one day you’ll see our names up in lights – but until then, we’ll keep on dreaming and keep on making our own little corner of Hollywood shine.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
You see, nestled amidst the hustle and bustle of LA life, I’ve carved out a cozy little corner of the internet – my very own blog and website, lovingly dubbed “Olya’s Universe”! Here, I invite you all to take a peek into the inner workings of my mind, where I share insights, musings, and all things creative.

But before I dive into the nitty-gritty of my online escapades, let me take you back to where it all began – the illustrious halls of Howard Fine Acting School. There, amidst the whirlwind of auditions and rehearsals, I underwent rigorous training that helped shape the course of my career. From voiceovers to commercials, improvisation to accents, I soaked up knowledge like a sponge, honing my craft with every passing day.

But that’s not all – ever the multitasker, I also delved into the world of firearms training and stage fight choreography, because who doesn’t love a good action scene, am I right? And when I’m not busy perfecting my craft, you’ll often find me sweating it out in the gym, indulging in my other passion – Muay Thai. After all, a girl’s gotta stay fit if she wants to kick butt on and off the screen!

Now, back to my digital domain – https://olyaaman.com/ is more than just a website; it’s a window into my soul. Here, you’ll find a treasure trove of articles, essays, and anecdotes, each one a reflection of my journey through the wild and wonderful world of storytelling.

And let’s not forget about my books! From riveting thrillers to heartwarming tales of love and loss, each page is a testament to my passion for storytelling. So, there you have it.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
The infamous COVID-19 crisis – a rollercoaster of a ride that took us all on a wild journey through uncertainty, face masks, and way too much hand sanitizer. But you know what they say – when life gives you lemons, make lemonade! My family and I made some darn good lemonade out of this whole situation.

I know that for many people, this pandemic was a time of tragedy and loss, and my heart truly goes out to them. But for us, well, let’s just say we decided to embrace the chaos and make the most of our time together.

You see, stuck at home with nothing but each other for company, we quickly realized that we actually kinda liked each other’s company. We laughed, we played, and we made memories that’ll last a lifetime. I wrote the best movie scripts over those two years.

Let’s not forget about the infamous quarantine weight gain – oh yes the struggle was real! Between snacking our way through Netflix marathons and baking enough banana bread to feed a small army, let’s just say our waistlines may have expanded just a tad. Sweating it out was a beast.
