Conversations with Jose Infante

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose Infante.

Hi Jose, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born in Cleveland, Ohio. I graduated with a Visual Communications Degree in the year of 2003. After working as a freelancer with multiple commercial studios for 6 years, I relocated to New York City at the end of 2009 to pursue my passion for fashion photography. Within the year of 2010, my pursuit was redirected with my true calling to become a professional actor. The Big Apple reinvigorated my love for acting and film since I was 5 years of age. Then I decided to leave New York City early 2011 back to Cleveland, Ohio and took a creative hiatus. In late 2013, I discovered an acting school (Houde School of Acting) and trained under my teacher, Jessica Houde-Morris until mid-2015. And in the summer of 2015, I moved to Los Angeles, California in pursuit of my acting future. Presently residing in Los Angeles, I am working as an actor (producer, filmmaker, etc.) – full time.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Since residing in Los Angeles mid 2015, I’ve dealt with numerous struggles. I’ve had 5 different places to live within 4 years. From Toluca Lake, North Hollywood, Sherman Oaks, Los Feliz, and Hollywood. Went through a tough break-up that led me to seek therapy. And had two surgeries on my right knee within one and a half years. From late 2015 to mid 2019 – I had to battle through plenty… mentally and physically, etc.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an actor. Although my background hails specifically photography, graphic design, and video production – I’ve always loved acting. In late 2013 is when I finally committed myself to pursue it. As of date, I’m not known for anything big yet…. But recently, I am most proud of a short western film “Nomad” which is currently in film festivals that I produced, directed, edit, and act in. What I feel sets me apart from others is my passion for the art, my work ethic, and my consistency. My enthusiasm to learn from others and the opportunities I get to experience. Also, my toolbox consists of these skills: Photography, Digital/Graphic Design, Cinematography, and Film Editing. Which is pretty handy when an actor/artist needs brand marketing material, etc.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I believe the industry over the next 5-10 years will shift to an abundance of opportunities for artists. I can’t quite clarify what that means, but I know I will somehow be involved when it evolves into something different. And being here in Los Angeles – I’m blessed to be part of this journey.
