Check Out Freddie Moore II’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Freddie Moore II.

Freddie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey with FM2 & Intentional started with my love for choir music and ministry. In 2015, I stepped out on faith and formed FM2 & Intentional. FM2 comes from my name, Freddie Moore II, and Intentional represents our desire to be purposeful in everything we do.

In 2018, we released our debut project, Darnell Davis Presents: FM2 & Intentional – Live from the Choir Stand, which reached the Billboard charts. Since then, we’ve continued recording, traveling, and building our sound while proudly representing West Coast gospel music.

In 2025, we celebrated 10 years, released Live from the Choir Stand: Episode II, and recorded Episode III. Now we’re entering a new chapter with EMERGE, powered by Tyscot Records, and our new single, “I Survived,” featuring Ruth La’Ontra. It’s been a journey of faith, consistency, and perseverance, and more than a decade later, we’re still growing and being intentional about what God has called us to do.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been staying consistent when opportunities didn’t always come as quickly as we hoped. Being an independent artist and leading a choir comes with a lot of responsibility, from keeping people motivated to funding the vision and making sure we continue moving forward even when doors close.

There have been moments when we’ve felt overlooked or heard “no,” but I’ve learned not to allow rejection to determine our future. Every challenge has strengthened my faith, leadership, and determination. That’s why our message is so personal to me: man’s “no” can become God’s “YES.” More than 10 years later, we’re still here, still growing, and still moving forward.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
FM2 & Intentional is a West Coast gospel choir built around ministry, excellence, and the traditional choir sound with a fresh approach. I serve as the founder and leader, and I’m also involved in vocal arranging, writing, and developing the overall vision and sound of the group. We’re known for high energy, strong vocals, and what we call our “West Coast Barks.”

What I’m most proud of is our longevity and growth. We’ve been together for over 10 years, charted on Billboard, ministered on some incredible platforms, and now we’re entering a new chapter with EMERGE, powered by Tyscot Records. What sets us apart is that we’re not trying to sound like anyone else. We embrace where we come from, honor the foundation of gospel choir music, and bring our own West Coast identity to it. Most importantly, we remain intentional about the message and ministry behind the music.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about Los Angeles is the diversity, creativity, and opportunity. There are so many different cultures, sounds, and styles here, and that has definitely influenced who we are as FM2 & Intentional. I also love the rich history of West Coast gospel music and being able to represent that legacy.

What I like least would probably be the traffic! Los Angeles will definitely test your patience when you’re trying to get a whole choir somewhere on time. But overall, I’m proud to call Southern California home and represent the West Coast wherever we go.
