Check Out Eric Scott’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Scott.

Hi Eric, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey is one that made me become a fearless and creative individual thriving in Los Angeles now. My parents are from New Orleans where my life began. Years before moving to Los Angeles, I was a young middle schooler displaced by Hurricane Katrina along with my family and friends. The entire city was in shambles. This is the beginning of a major catalyst in my life, learning to adapt to almost every challenge life throws.

Growing up in a city that gives me so much hope and tears is home. I was 13 when I got my first camera! I decided to photograph everything during that time. I would go out and buy disposable cameras from money I earned gutting out and rebuilding damaged homes. Yes… I was 15 building homes with my dad & mom has been the source that gave me the hustler mentality to beat the odds when everything is taken from you.

Shortly after moving back to New Orleans, I dedicated my time in service to the people around me doing freelance photography and film began to encourage my passion when I was young. I was then 16 and just learning that the film industry is now in New Orleans more than before and in my reach. Regularly seeing tucks and national guard every day for three years was straight out a movie. I would go out and photograph/film people and places. I began to direct low-budget music Videos and commercials at the age of 18 by then, I learned to take my camera everywhere and realized this what I wanted to do! Wherever it takes me. Having the faith to move from my hometown to follow my dreams sounds cliche but it’s very real the ambition and courage it takes to make a leap of faith. Now that Los Angeles is home to me. I mostly love to travel and vlog my experiences so far I’ve been to 13 countries to this day, link to my videos below.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Life often times makes it difficult to completely enjoy everyday. Moving to Los Angeles at first navigating industry was difficult, the humbling experience to do odd jobs in a large city is a very eye-opening experience. The support system I grew to have is stronger than ever and it’s only positive.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
“I’m a vibe creator” producing works behind the scenes and in print. I’ve even been a background actor and model for brands and television. I’m most proud of Premiering a film we created in 24hrs at TCL Chinese theatre with my Crew. Also completing a twenty city US tour The Dedication tour with Lil Wayne & Rae Sremmurd along with S-8ighty in 2016. Currently i’m working as Photographer on “Holiday Chance” a Feature Film Directed by Jamal Hill set to Release During the Christmas Holidays 2021.

What sets me apart from most… I’m going over and beyond for the project no matter the budget or task I’m giving my 110%.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I’ve been blessed enough to meet some great people along the way! Who are just as talented & believe in me more than I believe in me sometimes…that’s my lucky charm.
