Check Out David Lamoureux’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Lamoureux.

Hi David, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up in Glendora with incredibly musical parents and siblings. Wonderfully fortunate for creativity, imagination, and curiosity to have been so encouraged.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There’s no way to pretend that I’m not the beneficiary of countless “right place, right time” opportunities. That’s not to say that I don’t have a sprawling list of defeats and insecurities that are easily called to mind, but I’ve been meaningfully bolstered by myriad mentors and colleagues who’ve believed in and advocated for me over the past twenty-something years.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Most of my career has been spent as a music director and arranger, predominantly working in musical theatre. I believe that every idea can reach its fullest potential if the people collaborating to execute it are working with a shared and clear vision.. I think I’ve a particular affinity for facilitating creative interdepartmental communication in a way that maximizes what can come from matching up incredible storytellers with each other.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
My appetite for risk has broadened as I’ve come to accept and embrace the uncertainty that accompanies creating anything. The most outlandish ideas I’ve been involved with have generally culminated in the most satisfying and engaging outcomes, both for audiences and the teams of artists realizing them.
