Check Out DANA GEDRICK’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to DANA GEDRICK.

Hi DANA, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Doesn’t every story start with a dream, passion, and a need for change? Sometimes the universe gives us an obstacle we must overcome to fulfill our dreams. My obstacle was illness. I don’t want to focus too much on this, but it is important to understand the isolation and depression you feel from the loss of a healthy body. I have an autoimmune disease that ravages my body. I felt horrible in my own skin. I also had to work, so I was facing the public in the world of wellness and beauty.
I am a licensed esthetician, so this was extremely difficult, instead of focusing on my limits. I focused on being true to my spirit. I was always a go-getter, so it was time to jump over some walls again. I work in a beautiful Salt cave in Santa Barbara, California. When I first started, my illness was in high gear. I didn’t tell anyone this. I just worked, and over time, I started to see improvements in my health. I realized it was the Himalayan salt in the cave. This sent me over the moon. I wanted everyone to experience this and feel good. So this became my dream and passion for many years. I am so proud to say I got a US patent for my wellness tool. Believe me, it was not easy. COVID also came, and people were scared. I just kept my focus on one step and hurdle at a time.
I never gave up, even when it seemed upside down. Today I have a manufacturer for my product. Clients are helped by something I invented out of my own need to relieve pain. Helping others is most important to me. I am so grateful to hear the testimonies of people the Zen Roller helped. I love being creative and have also finished an eighteen-chapter memoir. I am super proud of this and can’t wait to share it with the world. This dream was accomplished with a fractured shoulder and wrist on the phone because my arms hurt too much to use the computer keys. I focused on my spirit rather than my weaknesses. It is a very fun and exciting read many can relate too. I don’t want to give to much away but lets use the word spicy.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are always hiccups when you follow a dream or want to change your life. This is the beauty of fulfilling your goals. For me it was a whole lot of huge bolders coming down the mountain. I faced my own personal illness. I had financial struggle to get the money I need to grow especially being a single mom with an autoimmune. Personal struggles that broke my heart things you have to let go in order to grow. Covid shut down everything. I didn’t let those bolders hit me to hard. I had to get back on track. I researched myself things I needed to do for my patent on my own. That was a huge issues it is extremely difficult to get one. I kept working with the patent office too. There were also people trying to take my product literally steal it from me. I had to file patent infringement claims with the government. I to have Instagram take posts down that were violating my intellectual property. It was not easy to protect something I worked so hard for. In the end people will copy and it is your brand that will stand out if it is solid.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I love being creative; I am a hybrid of everything, honestly. I am motivated by personal growth and the desire to help others if I can. When I believe in something, I get so excited and want to create something around that. Also, if I am struggling in a chapter of my life, I become extremely creative. I want to change, so I use my tools in my toolbox. I create things out of necessity. Then it spills over into a project that can benefit others. I am known as an Esthetician and run a wellness brand. I’ve also made some films. I currently just finished an 18-chapter memoir. I love writing; it heals the soul. I also love dealing with the public and sales. If you treat people with kindness and empathy, you will get that back. People want to feel seen, and they want to trust you. It always comes from a genuine place. I also have a crush on marketing. If you truly believe in something, it is super fun to come up with ideas on how to get it out there. Keep your mind on your goals; never stop believing in your own abilities.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
This is a question that is fun to answer. I see myself doing exactly what I am doing now. Being inspired by life and it’s many chapters. I want to have more discussion of how we can use our businesses around the world to help people achieve their goals. I want to create more holstic wellness tools and products derived from nature. I will look at trends and adapt in my own unique way. Balance is key with everything. I’d love to write more! Maybe do some more films that inspire growth motivation to change you life for the better. Trends come and go integrity and quality will stand against time.
