Today we’d like to introduce you to Cynthia Igne.
Hi Cynthia , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Transcend was born in the chaos of the pandemic, starting with something as simple as mask sprays. I hated wearing masks—they felt suffocating, triggered anxiety, and let’s be honest, they didn’t smell great. So I created something that could shift that experience—sprays that didn’t just disinfect, but elevated your mood using intentional blends of essential oils.
That small idea took off, and I found myself diving deeper into the world of essential oils, herbs, and crystals—not just out of curiosity, but out of necessity. I was on a healing journey, searching for a way to navigate the emotional weight of that time. What I discovered was powerful—these natural elements have the ability to transform not just your environment, but your energy.
I started creating for myself first, then realized others needed this too. What began as personal healing evolved into a movement. Today, Transcend is a full-spectrum spiritual wellness brand—but it’s far from traditional. It’s a reflection of me: grounded, a little raw, a little mystical, a little rebellious. It’s not all love and light—it’s shadow work, growth, and real transformation.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth ride. During that time, the primary way to get your brand out there was through local pop-ups. With stores closed and social distancing in place, I had to step into a completely new space without any prior experience. I was learning everything in real time—not just perfecting my products, but navigating licensing, permits, equipment, transportation, and the logistics of setting up in constantly changing environments. Even things like weather could make or break a day.
Financially, it was unpredictable. Some days I would sell out, and other days I wouldn’t make a single sale, while still being responsible for vendor fees, product costs, and overhead. There were moments of real loss, and no one really prepares you for that part—the risk, the uncertainty, and the emotional toll that comes with it.
On top of that, I quickly learned that being a business owner isn’t just a full-time job—it’s a 24/7 commitment, and you’re not always guaranteed a paycheck. My home essentially transformed into a full production space. I wasn’t just creating products; I became everything the business needed. I was the manufacturer, the laborer, the photographer, the web designer, customer service, marketing, and advertising—all at once.
There are so many layers to running a product-based business that people don’t see. Behind the scenes, it wasn’t always pretty—it was exhausting, overwhelming, and at times isolating. But it was also where the foundation was built. Every challenge forced me to adapt, grow, and become more intentional about what I was creating and why.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At its core, Transcend is a holistic wellness and apothecary brand designed to support healing of the mind, body, and spirit. I specialize in creating intentional, handcrafted products—everything from candles and essential oil blends to herbal remedies and crystal-infused items. Each product is created with purpose, combining natural elements with energy work to support emotional balance, clarity, protection, and overall well-being.
What I’m known for is creating more than just products—I create experiences. Everything is rooted in intention, whether it’s helping someone manifest abundance, release emotional weight, or simply find a moment of peace in their day. Transcend isn’t just about wellness—it’s about transformation.
What I’m most proud of is turning something that started as my personal healing journey into something that now supports others on theirs. To see people connect with the products, feel seen, and find comfort or empowerment through something I created—that means everything to me.
What truly sets Transcend apart is its authenticity. It’s a direct reflection of who I am, so it doesn’t fit into a traditional box of what “wellness” is supposed to look like. It’s not just soft, quiet, and polished—it’s real, a little raw, a little mystical, and unapologetically bold. I create for the full spectrum of healing—the light and the shadow—and that’s what resonates with people.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as alignment—being able to live in a way that reflects who I truly am while creating something that genuinely impacts others. It’s not just about financial gain, although that matters—it’s about freedom, purpose, and growth.
Success, to me, is turning my experiences—both the struggles and the healing—into something that helps other people feel seen, supported, and empowered. It’s building something authentic that doesn’t require me to fit into a box, but instead allows me to fully express who I am.
A big part of that success is the connection I’ve built with my customers and community. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing returning customers, hearing how much they love the products, or knowing something I created has helped them in some way. That kind of feedback, that level of trust and support—that’s what truly fulfills me.
It’s also about resilience—continuing to show up, evolve, and expand even when things aren’t easy. If I’m growing, creating, making an impact, and building real connections while staying true to myself, that’s success.
