Today we’d like to introduce you to Christos Tsiantoulas.
Hi Christos, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
As a child, I always wanted to be the center of attention. I would beg my family to watch the dances I had created after spending hours studying music videos and award shows on television. Dancing was something I simply couldn’t stop doing, even if I tried. What began as a pure love for movement and music gradually evolved into a deep-rooted passion that would shape my life.
Throughout high school, I often questioned whether I wanted to pursue dance as a career, knowing just how deeply I loved this art form. However, no matter how much I considered other paths, I couldn’t envision myself doing anything else. Today, I am fortunate enough to be living that dream in Los Angeles, currently on my second O-1 visa and continuing to pursue the passion that has been with me since childhood.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve always believed that nothing worth having comes easily. I come from a supportive family, but they were quite far removed from the entertainment industry, so a lot of my journey has been about figuring things out for myself. I had to learn how to navigate the industry, build my career, and find my place in the Canadian dance scene before eventually making the move to the United States.
Early on in my career, I was often seen as the underdog. I wasn’t always the first person to be picked or cast, but I think those experiences taught me a lot about perseverance and believing in myself, even when others might not see my potential right away. When opportunities did come my way, I made sure to show up and give them everything I had. That’s something I still carry with me today. I know how much work it took to get here, and I never take any of the opportunities I receive for granted.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I like to think of myself as a creative athlete. I’m a professional dancer, choreographer, movement coach, creative director, and educator. For me, movement is so much more than just dance. It’s a way of expressing myself and connecting with people.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some incredibly talented and renowned choreographers, including Damien Jalet, Draico Johnson, Janelle Ginestra, Ebony Williams, Ryan Heffington, Noel Bajandas, Emilio Dosal, Tanisha Scott, Kat Burns, Amy Wright, and Kevin Frey, among others.
Some of my professional credits include working with Bad Bunny, Yung Lean, Daya, David Archuleta, Snow Wife, and the Pentatonix, as well as performing at the VMAs and Grammys. I’ve also been fortunate enough to work on projects such as *America’s Got Talent LIVE Las Vegas*, *Disney Zombies 3*, *Sneakerella*, and the Pan Am Games Closing Ceremonies, alongside a range of live performances, television productions, festivals, and commercial projects. Outside of performing, I’m core faculty at Millennium Dance Complex LA, and I teach pop-up masterclasses at dance studios around the world. I feel incredibly grateful that my career has allowed me to explore so many different sides of the industry.
I would say one of my proudest experiences to date was performing at the 2026 VMAs with Yung Lean and GENER8ION. It was such an honour to be part of a performance of that magnitude. The entire experience, from the rehearsal process to stepping onto that stage, was incredibly impactful for me. It reminded me of just how far I’ve come and that I’m genuinely living the dream I had as a kid. If my younger self could have seen that moment coming, I think he would have been pretty proud.
I think what sets me apart is the passion I bring to everything I do. That passion has taken me around the world and continues to open doors that I once could only dream of. There’s a fire inside me that drives me to keep creating, learning, and pushing myself, regardless of where I am in my career. Ultimately, I want to use everything I’ve learned and experienced to positively impact the people around me, whether that’s through performing, creating, or educating. I want to continue pursuing what I love while staying true to myself and the purpose behind it all.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as waking up every day loving what you do, and doing it with people that you love. This definition continues to develop for me as I begin to realize that some of the things I once wanted, may not be what I want anymore.
