Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Simmons.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey has been anything but linear, but every chapter has shaped who I am today. I started my career as a professional dancer in the NBA and NFL, which taught me discipline, resilience, and how to shine in high-pressure environments. From there, I transitioned into aviation, working as a flight attendant for nine years, which allowed me to experience the world, connect with people from all walks of life, and develop a deep sense of independence.
I also held the title of Miss Globe United States 2020, which was a full-circle moment that reflected my commitment to growth, confidence, and empowering other women.
Today, I’m continuing to evolve—taking acting classes, prioritizing my wellness, and using everything I’ve learned to step into the most authentic version of myself.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I’ve experienced seasons of deep self-doubt, heartbreak, and having to rebuild from scratch—more than once. Transitioning between industries was hard at times, especially leaving behind stability to follow a new calling. I’ve also had to navigate situations where I was underestimated or overlooked, and that pushed me to develop a thicker skin and a stronger sense of self-worth.
One of the hardest lessons I’ve had to learn is that not everyone will clap for you when you’re growing—and sometimes the people closest to you can bring the most pain. But each struggle taught me to keep going, to bet on myself, and to never settle for less than I deserve.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I wear a few hats, but at the core, I help powerful people stay organized, on-task, and elevated. I work as an executive assistant and do data entry for high-level content creators, helping them streamline their businesses behind the scenes. It’s fast-paced and demanding, but I thrive in those environments—I love being the calm in the chaos and making sure things run smoothly.
I spent nine years traveling the world as a flight attendant, and I’ve performed on huge stages as a professional dancer in the NBA and NFL. I’ve also had the honor of holding the title of Miss Globe United States 2020.
Through that platform, I focused on self-worth, resilience, and helping women embrace their power—even through life’s hardest moments. That experience deepened my love for connecting with people on a meaningful level, and it’s what led me to start pursuing acting. I’m currently taking classes and building my craft, with the goal of telling real, raw stories that inspire healing and strength.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend creativity and structure. I’ve been in front of the spotlight and behind the scenes—and I bring intention, warmth, and high standards to everything I do. I think people remember how I made them feel, not just what I accomplished. That’s what I’m most proud of.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My biggest advice for finding a mentor or networking is to lead with authenticity. Don’t just look for people who have the title or status—look for people whose energy, integrity, and values align with yours. Some of the best connections I’ve made came from being genuinely myself, showing up consistently, and not being afraid to ask thoughtful questions or offer help without expecting anything in return.
Also, don’t underestimate the power of being in the right rooms—even if you feel nervous or unqualified at first. Say yes to opportunities that stretch you. Whether it’s a panel, a class, or a random invite, showing up is half the battle.
What’s worked well for me is staying curious, staying kind, and keeping my intentions clear. I’ve found that the right mentors and connections will recognize your light—and when they do, they’ll want to pour into you.
