Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Crosby.
Brandon, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Born in Columbia, South Carolina, and raised primarily in Northern Virginia, Brandon spent much of his early life involved in sports before discovering a deeper passion for acting and filmmaking after graduating high school in 2015. What began as an interest quickly evolved into a serious pursuit, leading him to connect with filmmakers, explore opportunities, and find ways to establish himself in the entertainment industry.
In 2017, he made his television debut in the Netflix political drama House of Cards, an experience that introduced him to the world of professional television production and reinforced his desire to continue developing his craft. Later that year, he appeared on TV One, portraying Lewin Powell in a story that explored how quickly life can take an unexpected turn. Since then, he has continued building his experience through commercials and short films while collaborating with various companies and creative professionals throughout the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, as well as New York City and Los Angeles. Each experience has contributed to his growth as a performer and strengthened his commitment to pursuing opportunities across film and television.
Outside of entertainment, he has developed a background in marketing, sales, and business development, helping nearly 500 brands, creatives, artists, and entrepreneurs build and grow their online presence. Through this work, he has collaborated with individuals and businesses across the country and internationally, helping them strengthen their branding, expand their reach, and communicate their value more effectively to their audiences. Contributing to the growth of so many different businesses and individuals has been a rewarding part of his professional journey. It has also taught him valuable lessons about creativity, relationship-building, and the importance of understanding how people connect with the world around them.
His journey has not followed a traditional or perfectly linear path. Along the way, he has experienced different seasons of growth, learning, and reassessment, each offering new perspectives on his personal and professional ambitions. Through it all, his passion for acting and filmmaking has remained a constant. He continues to think about the stories he wants to tell, the characters he hopes to portray, and the impact he wants to make through his work. His experiences outside of entertainment have also given him a broader understanding of business, human connection, and the different paths people take in pursuit of their goals.
Today, he is focused on continuing to grow as an actor, strengthening his professional presence, and positioning himself for new opportunities in film and television. He is drawn to projects that challenge him creatively, allow him to explore different dimensions of the human experience, and give him the opportunity to contribute something meaningful to an audience. Ultimately, his goal is to build a lasting career in entertainment while continuing to evolve both creatively and professionally.
For him, the journey is about more than simply being on screen. It is about refining his craft, telling compelling stories, embracing opportunities for growth, and creating work that resonates with people long after the credits roll.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Along the way, Brandon has faced challenges that have pushed him to grow, both personally and professionally. One of the biggest has been learning to trust himself, believe in his potential, and stay confident in his vision, even when the path forward isn’t always clear. In an industry filled with opinions, expectations, and constant competition, he has learned how important it is to protect his mindset, stay grounded in his purpose, and keep moving forward.
Brandon quotes, “There’s a lot of noise and opinions in this industry, and sometimes you start to build this bucket of self-doubt, which ultimately can lead to fear and anxiety. However, at the end of the day, you just have to stick to the plan, wake up every day, try your best, and rebuild that self-esteem. Put your big boy pants on, walk out into the world, and prove to yourself that you chose the right path.”
Brandon also recognizes that rejection and missed opportunities are a natural part of the entertainment business. He sees them as opportunities to learn, grow, and better understand where he wants to go, rather than reasons to question his path. For him, building a strong mindset comes down to consistency, self-belief, and the willingness to keep showing up. By staying committed to his craft and focusing on what he can control, he continues to move toward his goals with a clearer sense of purpose and a stronger belief in what’s possible.
