Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Imedo
Anna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I like to think of life in a positive way only, therefor i like to say I’m lucky ☺️ and there is a lot of proof for it – like this wonderful opportunity to tell my story to your readers 🩷
I came to the USA with my family almost 3 years ago… I came from Georgia, gorgeous country in the eastern Europe, that has a recorded history that dates back over 4,000 years, and evidence of human occupation in the area goes back even further… I’m very proud of being Georgian!
Unfortunately, the 20% of my country is occupied by Russia after the war we had with them (the last invasion was in Aug of 2008).
Me and my husband made decision to bring kids to the country of opportunities and to make our American dream become true.
It was not an easy decision at all – starting new life on a new continent, when you are no longer teenager and have minor kids is hard, but remember what i said at the very beginning ? I like to think of life in a positive way ☺️
In the past I had years of experience working for television: i was hosting Georgian version of tv show “the Voice”, had opportunity to act in several famous movies… People usually don’t leave such a life, but we had to…
So we came to America with minor kids, with a lack of English, and with no contacts… but we had each-other and strong state of mind of what we believed. soon we made new friends here for whom I am very grateful. My sons have made a new friends. Luckily their English is fluent, unlike ours so, it’s easier for them 😄
When we just came here my elder son was 8, and the younger turned 1 y o in here. I became a stay at home mom and full time job housewife. It was totally different from what i was use to – I have working actively from the age of 16; my children could always stay with their grandmothers while my husband and I went to different parties and events 😀 but life happens.
Now that almost 3 years have passed and we have loyal true friends, our social circle has expanded. Meanwhile, my children have grown up, become more independent, the younger goes to kindergarten, and I have more time to return to my favorite job, spend more time with my husband, discovering interesting places, and then sharing this on my social networks. Thanks to this, the number of my subscribers is also increasing. Sometimes I go to castings, take part in advertising photo shoots and videos.
Emigration taught me to discover what my unique experience is, that would be interesting to share with Americans … currently I’m working on my own business idea, that I hope soon to share with your readers.
I would like to remind those who goes through the struggles that life is full of opportunities, the main thing is to believe and not give up. The support of family is also important – without my husband, nothing would have worked out.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In Georgia (country) my social media was making for me a great job – i was content creator, while hosting a tv show about influencers.
So when i just came to America, i faced this situation, when i had to start everything from scratch – to make a friends, find contacts, build a new community around me…
My social media pages became useless in some point, cause i had no local followers… during first period i was unfollowed by almost 10 k of my followers. I was so busy with kids, house, i had no time to create a content my followers were waiting for… also, my English was not good and it was tying my hands even more.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I like to think about myself as a mom and creative person. I am open to every new opportunity, that America gives me. And I love to share it with my followers on Instagram. I tried my self in several commercial videos and photos – i found it very interesting, so I think about taking acting classes.
I’m also at the beginning of my realtor agent career journey.
And at the same time in the middle of building my own business. It’s online store where you would be able to buy trendy clothes. Everything will be picked up and styled by me personally and my team i work on with.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Very few people know that my original profession is psychology. However, I continued my career mainly as a TV presenter.
