Check Out Anastasia Skvortsova’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anastasia Skvortsova.

Anastasia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started as a painter and visual artist, always drawn to the way art can live and breathe through the human body. Tattooing felt like a natural evolution — a way to turn emotions, energy, and aesthetics into something lasting. After years of developing my style — delicate, flowing, and full of symbolism — I founded Inkindle Tattoo Studio in Rolling Hills Estates.

“Inkindle” is inspired by the word “enkindle,” reflecting the belief that tattoos can ignite transformation in both energy and identity. My goal has always been to create a space that feels safe, private, and deeply personal — a sanctuary where people can reconnect with themselves through body art.

I chose this area because of the beautiful nature surrounding it and the nearby ocean views. The calm, scenic environment influences our art and gives clients the opportunity to relax before or after their session — away from the city hustle. There’s also plenty of free parking, making the whole experience more accessible and stress-free.

We now have a small team of artists, each specializing in fine line, black and grey, color, and even temporary tattoos. Everything we do is intentional, with a focus on both beauty and meaning.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Opening my studio wasn’t an easy road — especially because the city I chose didn’t even have a zoning code for tattoo shops at the time. I had to go through a long and complex process of seeking approval from the city, which took time, persistence, and patience. But I chose this area for a reason — its calm nature and ocean views felt right — and I was determined to make it work.

My career journey was also far from smooth. I moved to LA from the Czech Republic in 2018 with only one year of tattoo experience, a tiny portfolio, and no Instagram presence. I started from the very bottom — working in walk-in shops around Hollywood and different parts of LA. I changed studios every other month, hoping to find a better fit, and at one point, I was driving over two hours just to work at a shop.

Despite the struggle, I poured my energy into improving my technique and focusing on growth instead of letting desperation take over. That mindset helped me get through it, and over time, things began to align. Today, I’m still improving every day — there’s no real finish line in art — but I’m proud to say I’ve built the kind of studio I used to dream of when I first arrived in LA.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a tattoo artist, painter, and the owner of Inkindle Tattoo Studio. My work blends precision with emotion — I specialize in fine line, black and grey tattoos that flow with the body and often incorporate botanical, cosmic and ornamental elements. I believe even the smallest tattoo can carry deep personal meaning, and I love helping clients express themselves in subtle but powerful ways.

What sets me apart is the balance I strike between elegance and detail. I use fine line techniques to create soft, delicate tattoos with strong contrast and clean body flow. My designs often feel dreamlike or poetic, inspired by nature, cosmos and the spiritual undertones of transformation.

At the studio, I’ve built an environment that reflects this philosophy: quiet, private, and calming. I want each client to feel safe and fully seen — not just tattooed. I’m proud that Inkindle has become a space where art, energy, and intention come together in a meaningful way.
