Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Cherry.
Hi Adriana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hi, I’m Adriana Cherry, and I started The Present Moment Club because I wanted to create a space where people could step out of autopilot and truly live, not just exist. Life moves fast, and so many of us get caught up in the rush without ever pausing to breathe, reflect, or connect. I wanted a community where mindfulness, presence, and holistic well-being weren’t just concepts, but practical tools we could use every day.
The Present Moment Club is built around six pillars: kindness, gratitude, movement, connection, meditation, and rest. These aren’t just words; they are habits we can integrate into our daily lives to bring more calm, joy, and fulfillment.
I have always been inspired by the research behind happiness and well-being, like Yale’s Science of Well-Being, and I wanted to bring those lessons to life in a way that feels accessible, grounded, and real.
When the Palisades fire hit, it changed everything for our community. So many people lost their homes, their sense of safety, and their routines. I lost everything myself. In times like that, you realize just how vital it is to have grounding practices, connection, and a supportive community.
That’s when The Present Moment Club really came alive. People reached out, and I leaned heavily into what I had been learning to feel grounded and centered when my whole world was literally reduced to ashes in a matter of minutes. I realized that what we had been building, a place to practice presence, gratitude, and care for ourselves and others, was exactly what people needed to heal, to breathe, and to find hope.
Now, The Present Moment Club is a thriving space where we share free, on-demand mindfulness practices and resources, host expert-led workshops, meditations, and webinars, build a community that encourages connection and reflection, and offer tools that help us navigate stress, distraction, and the unexpected challenges life brings.
The Present Moment Club isn’t just about occasional reflection. It’s about creating habits that help us stay grounded, especially when life feels uncertain. And honestly, after everything we went through with the fire, it feels more meaningful than ever.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. The journey has had its share of challenges, especially when the Palisades fire hit. So many people in our community lost their homes, their sense of safety, and their routines, and I lost everything myself. Experiencing that kind of sudden loss and devastation was overwhelming, and it really tested my ability to stay grounded.
At the same time, I had to be there not just for myself, but for my husband and our two young kids. Balancing my own need to process and heal while supporting them added another layer of challenge. I had to lean deeply into the practices of mindfulness, presence, and gratitude that I had been learning, even when my whole world felt like it had been reduced to ashes in a matter of minutes.
It was during that time that I realized the true importance of the work we were building with The Present Moment Club. What started as a vision for mindful living became a real, tangible way to help people heal, breathe, and find hope in the midst of chaos.
Even with all the hardships, these struggles have shaped the club into the supportive, resilient community it is today, and they have made our mission feel more meaningful than ever.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
After years of building a career selling digital ads and working in the fast-paced entertainment space, I developed a deep passion for the work. I loved the creativity, the strategy, and the thrill of bringing big ideas to life. Becoming a parent added a whole new layer to my life, filled with incredible blessings but also new challenges. Looking back, I wish I had some of the practices I now teach through The Present Moment Club, because they truly can help in even the most hectic moments.
I was on a mission to reclaim balance, which led me to learn from Dr. Laurie Santos at Yale University and to take additional happiness and mindfulness courses at Harvard University and Rice University. Those experiences gave me practical, research-backed tools that became the foundation of The Present Moment Club.
That realization became the spark for The Present Moment Club. I wanted to create a virtual space where presence is not just an idea, but a practice we can weave into our everyday lives. It is a community built around mindfulness, gratitude, movement, connection, meditation, and rest, habits that help us slow down, center ourselves, and show up more fully for our lives, our loved ones, and our communities.
What began as a personal journey to reclaim balance has grown into a thriving community where we support each other in living with intention even when life feels chaotic. The lessons I learned in fast-moving industries, creativity, adaptability, and persistence now inform how I nurture this community, helping others find presence amidst the noise.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I love books and podcasts that help me deepen my understanding of the mind, body, and how to live well. Some of my favorite podcasts are Huberman Lab and Peter Attia, because they explore science-backed ways to optimize health, performance, and longevity. I also enjoy Mel Robbins, whose practical insights on mindset and behavior change are always inspiring.
When it comes to books, I gravitate toward ones that combine research with actionable strategies, whether it’s about mindfulness, happiness, or personal growth. I’m drawn to resources that challenge me, teach me something new, and give me tools I can actually use in everyday life.
