Check out Bonnie Navarro, Cheyenne Anderson, and Katherine Letterman’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bonnie Navarro, Cheyenne Anderson, and Katherine Letterman.

The minds, hearts, and stories behind the Bombshell Betty’s Calendar for Charity.

Bonnie Navarro, our project director and photographer is the one who gave life to the Bombshell Betty’s Calendar. A native of the Antelope Valley, she wanted to honor the memory of her father, an Air Force veteran, as well as offer gratitude to the many men and women who have served and continue to serve and fight for our freedoms. It also helps her to perfect her art and continue to grow as a photographer.

Cheyenne Anderson-Hess is the project’s vice president and public relations manager. Another Antelope Valley native, she grew up in a patriotic home with down home values. Giving back to veterans helps her to honor many family members who have served, covering all five branches of the military. It has also helped her to realize strengths and dreams.

Katherine Letterman, the project’s secretary and organizational manager, is a transplant from the Great Lakes State, Michigan. She is a strong, adaptable soul and is often considered the stabilizing force in the project. Honoring those in her family who have served, she enjoys connecting and bonding with our local veterans and seeing first-hand the positive effects our project has had.

Pamela Munkelt is the graphic artist for the project who came on to lend a helping hand and stayed because she believed in what we do. Her dad served in the Army during the Vietnam War, her Grandpa served in the Navy in WWII, several uncles and cousins have served in the military throughout the years. The respect and love she has for those who serve has always driven her to give back. Her art is true and she is an incredible human.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
The Bombshell Betty’s Calendar for Charity is a calendar, developed in the style of traditional pin ups with the intent to boost morale and support for our troops and veterans. Bonnie Navarro takes, edits, and produces the photos to be used in the calendar, with the 2019 calendar featuring Pinups for American Heroes. Pamela takes care of the calendar layout and graphic design work to put the finishing touches on the final product. Katherine and Cheyenne help promote the project, handle the paperwork, and anything else that is needed to help ensure the growth and success of the project. In addition, to help spread awareness and increase community involvement, the Bombshell Betty’s team provides a USO inspired photo booth, featuring Pinups for American Heroes, at various events. The photo booth also helps bring joy to the faces of veterans and helps to educate others about veteran organizations.

The overall mission of the Bombshell Betty’s Calendar for Charity is to raise support and awareness for veteran charities through community involvement, beautiful photos, and Pin Ups. We are inspired by the sacrifices that our veterans have made for our rights and freedoms and we sincerely hope the Bombshell Betty’s Calendar shows them how grateful we are for what they have done for us.

Great group of ladies to work with! We appreciate their support of our Wreaths Across America program (through our non-profit, Friends of the Lancaster Cemetery) and the support of our veterans. Thanks ladies!
