Brenda, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What battle are you avoiding?
I think waking up early and starting a productive day earlier is something that I’ve been avoiding because I do want to wake up earlier and I don’t know. I just been avoiding it, but I just know it needs to be done.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, my name is Brenda Oregon and I am an actress here in Los Angeles. I come from a big families specifically with a six brothers and one sister my mom was a single mother when I entered high school. She ended up getting divorced from my dad at that time which actually made me look up to her even more because she raised us by herself when my dad ended up not being in the picture anymore until later on after I graduated highschool .
I think what makes me very unique is the experiences that I had in life and how I can tap into that and really be vulnerable in audience where I feel like as an actress we have to be vulnerable most of the time. Right now I feel like I’m focusing more on just branding myself as an actress , which roles I feel like are best for me .i want people to know me through my craft and not specifically what I look like.I want people to say that girl can act and not just say oh she’s just a pretty girl on TV.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship with my mom has definitely shaped me who I’ve been. My mom has been through a lot and I’ve seen my mom go through so many things so many struggles and for her to still be standing here winning I think it’s so inspirational to me. Now I look at myself just as powerful as she is and I feel like I’m the strongest she is and if she could do it raising seven kids by herself, I feel like I can do or have as much power as her and anything that I put my mind to, and I think that’s what happens when you don’t give up.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
So a lot of people may not know this, but I am a barber. And I just remember walking into my first barbershop and not knowing how to cut hair and trying for months and months and not getting it to the point where I was like maybe I should just go back to serving or bartending because this career may not be yet for me. I’m actually glad I did not give up because now I’m a great barber.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
I tried to make my public version of myself as real as I am in real life. I think a lot of people Miss concept me into just being this promiscuous girl because of the way I dress, but as far as my personality and stuff I feel like that is as real as it gets, I always want people to know the real me cause I don’t like to live in any type of lie.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I think I would stop being scared I would start being more ambitious. I would stop being afraid to fail and just do everything that I wanna do. There’s times where I just want to grab all my stuff and go and explore different parts of the world and just work at a barbershop just to See who I can meet as far as like learn from somebody that I meet and when I meet this person, and excel in what I’m doing.
