Today we’d like to introduce you to Maranova.
Hi Maranova, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
It all began with a dream and a one-way ticket to Los Angeles. Armed with nothing but a suitcase full of hopes, I left behind the comforts of my home and set out to chase my dreams. Dreams I’ve had as long as I can remember. Coming from unique beginnings, I was born in Cheremkhovo, Russia, and at 18 months, was adopted and raised by Italian American parents in a small town in New Jersey. I grew up surrounded by music, and from a young age, I knew that performing was my passion. I started writing songs in my bedroom, pouring my heart and soul into every lyric. After moving to the City of Angels, I found my home. But breaking into the music scene in LA was no easy feat. I recorded my debut single, “Chills,” in 2021, and from there, the rest was history.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As I navigate the highs and lows of this career, I’ve come across plenty of obstacles! Ever tried to write a chart-topping hit while worrying about how you’re gonna pay next month’s rent? Trust me, it’s not exactly a walk in the park. Then there were those days when self-doubt crept in like an unwelcome houseguest. Am I good enough? Will anyone even listen to my music? Yeah, those thoughts kept me up at night more times than I care to admit. The pressures of the industry weighed heavily on my shoulders, threatening to drown out the very music that had once brought me so much joy. But I’ve got a knack for turning life’s lemons into lemonade. I stumbled, I faltered, but through it all, I refused to let go of my dreams.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Being a pop singer isn’t just about singing—it’s about storytelling, expression, and creating unforgettable experiences. I’ve always had this insatiable passion for expressing myself through melodies and lyrics. It’s what drove me to pursue a career in music. I find solace in creating catchy tunes and heartfelt lyrics that hopefully resonate with people’s emotions. Music allows me to express myself and connect with others. It’s important to be genuine and transparent in my lyrics. The space where artist and audience meet are the performances. Each one is special in its own way, and I make sure to put my whole heart and soul into every single one I do. One of my most gratifying moments in my career so far would be the first time someone told me that one of my songs really meant something to them. Knowing that my music has the power to touch people’s lives in a meaningful way is incredibly humbling and fulfilling.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
If you’re a fellow musician or artist itching to collaborate, hit me up! Whether it’s laying down some tracks together, brainstorming music video ideas, or even just bouncing around creative concepts, I’m always ready to collaborate and make some magic happen. I see every form of support, and every single form of your support and energy means the world to me. When you blast my tunes and share them with your friends, stream my songs, come out at my shows, or just spreading the word about my music on social media, every bit of support truly fuels my passion and drive. I also love to hear what you have to say about my music! When people reach out and let me know my music means to them, it reminds me why I do what I do, in the hopes that it comforts people the way it does for me.
