Meet Alysha Percy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alysha Percy. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Alysha Percy

Alysha is one of Australia’s top hip-hop choreographers/dancers, who is recognized for her high-energy choreography and dancing around the world. At the beginning of her career, she worked on many broadcast networks such as Disney, ABC 3, Channel V, and more. Since then, she has traveled worldwide, teaching in many cities such as Los Angeles, Guam, Victoria, Adelaide, Brisbane, New Zealand, San Diego, and many more.

Alysha also had the pleasure of being cast for shows in Los Angeles and Australia, such as Monsters Show ‘REBIRTH’ and Australian Show ‘Found by WE ARE.

Alysha has gone to working with some amazing artists, such as choreographing and dancing for the iconic 50 CENT in his show for RNB Live Australia, Performing in Award shows in Los Angeles, and many music videos for artists such as Lara Andallo, Art vs. Science, Chanel Loren, Enola Bedard, Dana Vaughns, Jovanie to name a few. Alysha has also had the amazing opportunity to perform on some of the biggest stages in America, such as the Rose Bowl and Crypto Arena, with K-pop Artists XG.

Alysha started dancing at the age of two, and as soon as she hit the stage, she knew dance was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life.

She did most of her schooling online so she could travel with dance at a young age, to then graduate at only 16. Dance teaching was her first job, and she’s been doing it since she was 15.

Once she did the Monsters show in 2019 she then started to apply for her 01 visa, which is very hard to get. When COVID hit, it took a toll on her whole process of moving, but that didn’t stop her as she moved at the beginning of 2023 and has been thriving and killing it ever since. Teaching throughout all of Europe and the UK to teaching at the biggest dance studios in the world.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There was no such thing as a smooth road in Alysha’s journey. Alysha had to sacrifice a lot to get to where she is now. She sacrificed most of her childhood for dance instead of hanging out with friends. She had to leave her family, her dog, and the people she loved just to have a chance at pursuing her goals here in LA. It has been difficult, to say the least. She’s been turned down countless times, from auditions to people. She’s been told she would never make it in the dance industry, but despite all of that, she pushed through and made it all worth it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Alysha is one of Australia’s top hip-hop choreographers/dancers, who is recognized for her high-energy choreography and dancing around the world. She specializes in hip-hop choreography but loves to freestyle and work on her foundations as well.

Alyshas biggest thing that she s most proud of is choreographing and dancing for the iconic 50 CENT in his show for RNB Live Australia.

Alysha is different from alot of dancers and choreograohers in the world bevcause when she teaches, she gives her whole heart and soul into the class and choreography. Alysha always says that dance is therapy and a form of communication. So when teaching she loves to make everyone in class feel safe and comfortable to let go and dance and have fun.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
The people that deserve the most credit for my career is my mum Shvawn Percy, My “American Mother” I like to call her. And to all my supporters and teachers throughout my life and journey in life.
