10 Pizza Joints That Will Change Your Life

1. Grimaldi’s Coal Brick-Oven Pizzeria

Al Tesoro

Address: 2121 Rosecrans Ave, El Segundo, CA 90245

Yelp Link

We think Grimaldi’s is the best pizza in NYC (with Lombardi’s a close second). Thankfully, there’s a southern California location in Manhattan Beach. This is true, authentic, NY Style pizza. We love our pie with onions, roasted red peppers and garlic.

2. Bottega Louie

C2

Address: 700 S Grand Ave Los Angeles, CA 90017

Yelp Link

Bottega Louie is one of LA’s swankiest pizza places. The ambiance is very Manhattan, featuring extremely high ceilings, white marble and white walls.   The pizza and almost everything else they serve is to die for. It’s fresh, authentic and delicious – but it’s comes at a cost of over $20 per pie. Bottega is also the most reviewed restaurant on all of Yelp (not just LA) – definitely reason enough to give it a try.

3. Pizzeria Mozza

Address: 641 N Highland Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036

Yelp Link

Pizzeria Mozza pizza is really good because of its simplicity. It’s for those with a sophisticated pallet. They aren’t bombarding you with tons of cheese or ingredients – just a few ingredients so you can taste each one. It’s masterful.

4. Masa of Echo Park

Chicago Deep Dish

Address: 1800 W Sunset Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90026

Yelp Link

Masa of Echo park is famous for its Chicago-style Deep Dish Pizza and their incredible bread pudding (must order). They make the pizza fresh, so it takes 40 minutes (don’t come if you are in a rush). Given the amount of food, it’s very reasonably priced (most people get filled up after just 2 slices).

5. Bossa Nova

Big thanks to Ryan – check out his awesome feed!

Address: 7181 W Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90046

Yelp Link

Bossa Nova is a Brazilian restaurant that serves awesome gourmet pizza. It unique, it’s awesome and you we think you owe it yourself to give it a try.

6. Village Pizzeria

Thanks Helen!

Address: 131 N Larchmont Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90004

People who love to hate on LA pizza actually find Village Pizza to be great. It’s a tiny pizzeria in Larchmont that serves both thin NY-style pizza and thick Sicilian-style pizza. Great bang-for-your-buck, especially for Larchmont.

7. Tomato Pie Pizza Joint

Huge thanks to the stunning Andrea Monier

Address: 2457 Hyperion Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90027

Yelp Link

Famous for their grandma pizza: marinated tomatoes, garlic, spots of mozzarella and topped with fresh basil and romano

8. Hollywood Pies

Address: 6116 1/2 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90035

Yelp Link

This is arguably the best Chicago pizza outside of Chicago. Hot, cheesey, deep dish pizza. Chicago natives say it’s as close to Lou Malnati’s Pizza as you’ll get in LA.

9. Lucifers Pizza

Shoutout to super talented Chris – check him out on soundcloud

Address: 1958 Hillhurst Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90027

Yelp Link

One of the most creative pizza places in LA with options like Thai Satay Pizza, Pumpkin Pizza and more. It’s great for spice lovers.

10. Trattoria Bella Roma

Thank you Angela!

Address: 1509 S Robertson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90035

Yelp Link

Famous for the white potato pizza (pictured above).
