Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Mather.
Nicole, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born in Romania and came to the US when I was 3 years old. As I grew up, my parents instilled in me to do something with my life as we lived in a land of opportunity and not take it for granted. It remained in my head for the rest of my life and still, I think about it every day. After graduating from College with a BS in Business, I worked in Finance for many years trading equities and in sales.
As the firms I worked for took companies in their initial public offering or secondary offering otherwise known as “Public”, I heard many stories of the founders, CEO’s or executive teams speaking and how they started their companies and how they grew to these great proportions and achieved such great success. I thought, one day, this will be me. I made it a mission ever since to start something I loved out of nothing and grow it to amazing heights. Fast forward, 20 years later, here I am as Founder and CEO of House of Sillage.
I started the firm with one fragrance bottle which was born in November of 2012 to launching 6 fragrances of signature and limited-edition fragrances at the end of 2013. Today, we are in 45 countries and over 300 points of sale in the world. In the US, our products are carried in the most prestigious and high-end retailers such as Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdales. I have to say, it has been a dream come true to create something that has been so well accepted all over the world has been truly a Blessing and a very exciting adventure in my life.
Has it been a smooth road?
Going after your dreams is never a smooth road. It is all about sacrifices and fighting for every achievement and hearing no every step of the way. Nothing came easy and nothing was handed to me in any way shape or form. Problems and major struggles are aspects you are faced with each and every day and still I face them every day. I have learned to overcome, self-motivate, have a good perspective and stay driven, focused and not give up even when you are psychically drained and on your last breath of utter exhaustion. My belief in God and my faith along with the love I have from my family carries me through the obstacles and my challenges. I feel I can go out and fight another day as long as I carry the shield of love given to me by God.

House of Sillage is a niche luxury fragrance company. We are known for having the finest and amazing quality fragrances along with the most beautiful packaging in our bottles. We are in a category all our own in our industry and set apart from all the others. I am very proud of what we have created as we brought the artistry in jewelry making to fragrance. Perfume is such an incredible art form, each of our scents tells a magnificent story in the stunning packing of our bottles. We use the finest craftsmanship in hand polished gold-plated caps and hand placed diamond cut Swarovski stones with highest grade oil in all our perfumes. Each and every bottle is a work of art.
What has been the proudest moment of your career so far?
There are many proud moments in my career. There are many proud moments with House of Sillage and with my team and all our achievements together. I have to say, nothing compares to the proud moments my kids make me feel. I have watched them grow and become these incredible little people despite me traveling every month for work. They are and will always be the stars in my life!
