Hi Sugam, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Clearbooks CPA was born as a way to mitigate stress for me and my loved ones.
My career started in private wealth management at Goldman Sachs. I helped the rich create legal tax shelters and implement tax strategies to mitigate liabilities and defer payments. Thru my interactions, I quickly learned that the sharpest sword is always the ethical one.
From there, I took my talents to a top accounting firm where I earned my CPA license and led audits — I knew there was power in knowledge. From there, I sought to work at high-energy environments and worked in Investment Banking in New York City and a Series A –> B startup.
Now I look to share my knowledge and bring simplicity to my clients and those around me. My firm takes pride in managing end-to-end accounting & tax, from entity formation to bookkeeping & tax preparation.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road of experience has involved high-stress situations and working odd times of the day. This included spending numerous hours on the CPA exam and working long hours in a corporate job.
Finding and retaining clients remains one of the most enjoyable parts of my job.
