Meet Nistha Dube

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nistha Dube.

Hi Nistha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I went to Virginia Tech University and graduated in 2020 (pandemic times), which was when I decided to make the decision to turn down a full-time job offer to pursue content creation full-time, with the hopes of one day becoming a public speaker full-time.

I began posting 2 YouTube videos a week in March of 2020 on the topics of manifestation and mindset reframing, and soon short vertical-form videos on TikTok, which then gained traction and allowed me to expand into the coaching space and grow a more trusted audience.

I established myself as a coach and worked 1:1 with high school and college students on topics such as finding career clarity, developing self-confidence, and practicing mindfulness. I received my clients organically through Tiktok. I helped college students change their major to something they’re more passionate about, leave relationships that no longer serve them, and find more confidence in their fitness routines and external selves.

I launched a podcast in July of 2020 with no equipment on Anchor, which then made the list of “Top 30 Self-Discovery Podcasts” in 2022, and within one year, hosted Olympic athletes, Forbes-featured coaches, and Obama’s hairstylist on my show.

In fall of 2021, I got flown out to LA to work at a digital agency on the basis of my TikTok to work with personal and consumer brands around the LA area, and now travel back and forth between LA and DC.

In the meantime, I self-published my poetry book Feb. 2021 and got it on the selves of Barnes & Noble by sending their corporate location a marketing pitch and cold calling into their retail locations. It was an honor to see my book next to Rupi Kaur, one of the authors I look up to for inspiration.

I gave a TEDx on my story in December of 2021 on the topic of “creating purpose” to Redmond High School and gave my first keynote speech at Utah State University on Self Love. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity so speak at startups and local schools about self-discovery, mindfulness, purpose, and more.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The irregularities in income have opened my eyes to the grit and consistency required in monetizing my content. I’ve learned that it takes time to really “make it.” While the opportunities are unbelievable, it doesn’t necessarily always translate to income. Focusing on profit-generators in your business is what I don’t see content creators talk about enough and what I had to learn the hard way.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
With standardized education being a commonplace in today’s education system, many college students often lose a sense of self-awareness and over time, become unmotivated towards pursuing their personal goals. Ultimately, I hope to bring interactive education to the school systems so that students become not only empowered to be self-aware and mindful but to integrate themselves within the learning process.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My business coach, Devesh Dwivedi, who helped me strategize, organize, and optimize my ideas in a way to provide transformations for my audience.

My friend, Andrea Casanova, who guided me in all things personal branding, business, and mindset improvement.

My friend Kunal Pathade, who always reminded me to remain on this path no matter what doubts came up along the way.

My parents, who always encouraged to me to follow my passions and supported me during every step of the way.

Adil Naghmi, for being my incredible support system and the visuals and storytelling behind my podcast and content.

Joe Johnston for representing ambitious speakers across the country and helping me build my speaking portfolio from day one.
