Inspiring Conversations with Nazeli Isagholian of Nazeli Design

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nazeli Isagholian.

Hi Nazeli, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I always knew I wanted to go into design, whether it was fashion or interior design. After working in both industries, I soon realized that interior architecture was where my passion was. I attended FIDM where I received my bachelor’s degree in interior design. I learned a lot through this program but it was through my long hours and experience of working where I gained so much experience and knowledge. In the beginning, I worked for a couple of design and architectural firms. I was able to grow and make executive decisions on projects which taught me a lot. I utilized all my resources and was able to get my name out there. This was when I decided to branch out and start my own firm. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. To be able to take my passion and turn into liquidity has been a dream.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Although it has been a wonderful experience building my business, there have been times where I was unsure of what could possibly happen. Having your own business can be intimidating at times but I’ve learned how important it is to push through and navigate during these times. Building a team you trust and acquiring a clientele is not easy. There are times where you must consider when to budge or not. Among it all, it has taught me to be smarter and stronger leading me into being a great businesswoman.

We’ve been impressed with Nazeli Design, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Nazeli Design, we strive to create bespoke interior and exterior design. Many people are not aware of the amount of services we offer. As I have a background in architectural development, we offer services such as architectural drawings and details, construction floor plans and elevations, project management, and any interior or exterior modifications and remodels. I feel as though the amount of services we offer in particular differentiates us from other firms as well. We pride ourselves on our customer service and management during a project. We are always looking for ways to make projects easier for our consumers. I wish more people knew and understood the importance of hiring a design firm prior to starting construction. We are able to provide all necessary drawing sets and construction plans to get the project going and help you save money by not having to source out so many different things.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
It can be rewarding when people learn that I have been in the industry for almost 10 years despite the fact that I am a young interior architect/designer. It automatically makes them trust our design process even more. Another surprising fact is that I speak French and a lot of my design inspiration comes from France. I love a mix of Modern Parisian and Louis-era French design vibes.
