Today we’d like to introduce you to Jackie.
Hi Jackie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m just a girl that enjoys long walks to the pizza shop. I always got excited when I got the opportunity to dine out more than I did home-cooked meals made by my parents and grandparents. Eating in restaurants always filled me with a rush & that thrill still lives within me.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One challenge is, TikTok is the devil! Social media has lost so much authenticity. Tik Tok makes it easy for anyone to be an “influencer”. It doesn’t allow for food lovers to showcase the real scene. I often get deterred and lose motivation because people are not looking for good food anymore. Most are just looking for a vibe and that’s not my lane.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Jackies_Food_Jaunts?
I def know what sets me apart. That’s EASY! I don’t follow trends. I’m not running to a restaurant with cotton candy in a drink because it’s cute. I’m super adamant about that. I think it’s important to let people know if they’re about to waste their money. Let me know if I’m only going to get cute pic inside the jaunt and not feel fulfilled. Don’t trick me saying the food is good and it’s trash. Even if you have 1 follower, be upfront and honest. I’m proud to know that the people that do rock with me, rock with my hard. I love the feedback I get from them. It feels like a foodie village.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
In all of the years I’ve done this, I’ve only had 3 comp meals. I never want my reputation to be on the line. If you comp these burgers and I don’t like it, I want to be honest with my people, you know. I want to still have integrity even if social media wasn’t around.
