Today we’d like to introduce you to Ciara Jibri.
Hi Ciara, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I have a background in public relations, sponsorship procurement, and event production. I’ve always had an interest in event planning though – I literally planned my mom a surprise birthday party when I was 13, so it’s been in me!
I began my career as a publicist and producing fashion shows which later transitioned into creating my networking social series called “HAUS OF MIMOSA. I wanted to make a space with mimosas galore for the unknown, upcoming & established everyday working woman or creative. As I began to build a loyal audience through my platform – I decided it was time to have a huge networking event to show Chicago what I was capable of and that is where I created ‘HAUS CALL,’ a self-care day fest for women professionally working in creative fields. IT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!!! I mean, tuhhh the marketing was marvelous lol
As I was beginning to take HAUS CALL on tour to NY & HOU, I found out I was pregnant and RIGHT AT THE PEAK of my career at that. Once I finally had my little one – I attracted a lot of baby brand partnerships, baby geared clients and began creating events to incorporate my new world, motherhood, and all of my new learnings.
My audience at this point has watched from the single ambitious girl to a mother to a fiancé. I still had an audience who was still interested in supporting but were not moms yet & that’s where the decision to pivot towards SPIRITS came about. Spirits is so universal and attracts every demographic! Here we are today, where I’ve had the pleasure to partner with numerous local and premium-level spirit brands, beauty brands, sneaker brands to create so many memorable experiences + events.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
ABSOLUTELY NOT! I have been a full-time Experience Curator for 5 years now. Entrepreneurship is not easy by far, but it can definitely be very rewarding.
I was faced with the challenges of a rough postpartum after my son was born – having to get acquainted with being a new mom and still trying to work was difficult. I prayed for patience, healing, and understanding every day honestly.
I also struggle often like most creatives with feeling uninspired, imposter syndrome, and being burnt out & when I feel like that, I try my best to PAUSE for a second to recollect my myself. I truly had/have to teach myself to take a break. What good am I to anyone else if I’m not good to myself right?
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
She who wears many hats, literally and figuratively. I am an Experience Curator that specializes in the conceptualization and execution of private events & brand activations incorporating spirits + influencer marketing, sponsorship procurement, and strategic partnerships.
I help bring influencers, major brands, and businesses at every level together for increased exposure by building awareness and a loyal audience through events & experiences.
I truly have a deep cultural connection for storytelling, community building, and connecting brands!
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
GOOD LUCK for sure – don’t get me wrong, I’ve had some moments for sure, but God has definitely been keeping me blessed!
