Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaimie Branson.
Jaimie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Growing up in Las Vegas. I worked in the hospitality industry and that gave me the tools and perspective I still use today – I treat people the way I want to be treated, My clients are number one and I want them to look and feel amazing and I have surrounded myself with a team who share that same vision. To do that, we offer – Vegetalement a Vegan Non-Toxic color, which is derived from plants and pure essential oils -imported from France. We also are a Wella creative salon we have been working with both lines for over 10 years.
In 2010, I met my mentor Arnaud Ozharum His genius inspired me, and his patience and passion shaped me as an artist. I opened the first Powder Room in Silver Lake in 2012. In 2017, our second location opened in Hollywood. During the pandemic, we lost our Silver Lake location due to our building being sold. So we decided to take on yet another venture and in May 2021, our FrogTown salon opened. Currently, I work at both our La Brea and Frogtown locations.
My husband, Jeff Branson, the creative mastermind also my best friend (built all of my locations). Without his dedication and love The Powder Room would not exist.
My mother, Susan Foley who is a hairstylist still to this day she is 73 years old and a barber in Dunedin, Florida at Main Street barbershop she is the one Who opened my eyes to this beautiful career, without the love and support From my entire family including my Biggest fan my sister Suzy Perrine who has always been there for me and also coined our motto “Keep it Sexy”
We believe you must keep it sexy 24 /7 In life and hair – Every single one of our clients leaves feeling beautiful.
Our talented crew at La Brea includes Cecília Davis, Rayna Wrighton, Terrance Martin, Curtis Blue, Christopha Weinkauf.
Eastside location, we have Jose Cantu, Eduardo Uribe, Fanesia Vienna, Kat Kelly, and Shane Clare.
Being surrounded by such a creative team Helps me keep this dream alive.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The Pandemic was not easy for any of us and after losing our flagship salon on sunset blvd because our building was sold, we decided to stay the course – our clients stayed loyal and during our downtime, we renovated a new salon in Frogtown next to Silverlake so we were able to retain all of our clientele and stay in business.
It was truly a crazy time to start a business but I know people still need to keep it sexy – so we did.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in people – I do Whatever it takes to make someone’s hair dreams come true.
I have a passion for extensions color and hair cutting I love it all equally.
What sets me apart from others is my amazing Nontoxic color line Vegetalement.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Never give up, not even when you are shut down. Keep it moving and keep it sexy.
