Check Out Angel Osorio’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Osorio.

Hi Angel, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I honestly would have never imagined I would’ve ever been placed in front of the opportunities that I’ve been in. I guess it goes down to my inability to say no. A word I’ve been learning to use lately though. Starting out I did everything. The first creative thing I can remember myself doing was attempting to write a short story for a class project in the 4th grade. I was pulled out of class mid-year, so I never had the chance to finish that story. From there, I picked up drawing, poems, tagging (only on paper), making cartoons in animation class, to playing the guitar. I originally thought it would be music that I would’ve pursued, but it ended up being photography and now videography. And now I’m diving into NFTs. It’s been a crazy ride, ten years to be exact. And I finally jumped and quit my day job. I really believe NFTs are going to be such an important part of every artist’s future. Now that I have a lot more time on my hands, I’m trying to figure out how. As you can tell from my history, I get bored quickly. But I’ve found the new thing that sparks my interest and makes time pass by so fast. I actually feel like this is just the beginning of my story. Who knows.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think it’s safe to say we don’t travel on a road. It’s more like walking through a forest or a cave. Each decision you make will just open up a different set of problems. Like if you’re trying to become a photographer, your first problem is saving up for gear. Then you have to learn how to use it. Then you have to figure out how to get paid for it. When I was a kid, for some reason I thought people were just born with these skills. But they’re not. You have to kinda just be obsessed about something. I know that sounds weird, but it’s true. Problems will always come. You just have to know how to get the right ones. And each problem will just reveal a new clue to the next problem. And eventually, things you used to struggle about will just make you laugh. In other words, you have now created a path in the forest and lite up the cave with signs for you and the next person (If they even listen).

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a photographer and videographer based out of LA. Over the years, I have jumped into maybe genres of the art. I think some of my favorite photographs have been my national park images. Maybe it’s because of the pandemic but I’ve learned to really appreciate those. I also am well known for my product and brand shoots. I’ve had the privilege of working with many amazing people and teams over the years. What sets me apart is my ability to grow with the needs of my clients. I consider myself more of a problem solver above anything else.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Find something you lose track of time doing. At a certain point, that will fade, But you will have to combine old passions with new passions. That’s what makes you unique. Focus on doing more rather than getting more. Some will take advantage, but the ones who value you will eventually find you if you get good enough and place you in front of the right opportunities. Just don’t lose your fire.
