Rising Stars: Meet Amanda Jo Cable

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Jo Cable.

Hi Amanda Jo, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
As a Southern California Native, I have always resonated with the unique and coastal way of life. My passion for jewelry is rooted from my strong Native American heritage and my connection to one-of-a-kind vintage pieces. For as long as I can remember, my mother has collected vintage Native American gems. She would redesign and repair the jewelry regularly. In turn, I began to display the same adoration for customized, unique pieces that spoke to my soul. This adoration paired with an entrepreneurial spirit led to the birth of my own personalized, coastal-inspired jewelry business, ROOTSSEA. The name ROOTSSEA came naturally as my passion for reggae music and warrior instinct to help the planet were married in creating simplistic and sustainable jewelry.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
After a few years of hard work and continuing to nurse the brand to its full potential, ROOTSSEA spun from a travel-based hobby to a growing small business. The heart and soul of ROOTSSEA are what has made the brand grow and has resulted in the seaside-inspired jewelry taking off in many beach towns across the coast. Each piece of jewelry is delicately hand-made and locally sourced. Thus, speaking back to ROOTSSEA’s core mission of protecting the planet and taking care of mother earth. Every piece of ROOTSSEA jewelry is handcrafted with top-notch, eco-friendly materials and made in San Clemente, CA. With an impressive collection boasting personalized necklaces, dainty bracelets, and gorgeous earrings, ROOTSSEA will bring out the mermaid that resides in all.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
With my unconditional love of the sea, my wanderlust led me to new places and eventually, I started my own jewelry business. I have always been drawn to anything and everything to do with nature. I collect unique gemstones, seashells, and sea glass that I find on my various travels around the world. My first international trip to the serene islands of Indonesia is where my dreams would turn into a reality. Taking in all of the lush landscapes and ah-inspiring beaches Bali had to offer, I knew it was my purpose to create divine, sustainably sourced jewelry. On the breath-taking beaches of Bali, ROOTSSEA was born.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Going to the beach as much as possible, learning to surf and skate. I have four brothers so I was a tomboy and I loved to adventure and explored with them.
