Meet Remi Jones of Remi TV in Rhode Island

Today we’d like to introduce you to Remi Jones.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My story started when I was speaking with my sister in law she was a correspondent on a television show in New York City she felt like I had a great personality to be a correspondent as well. I was really shy and soft spoken around people who I did not know so I declined at first. One day we spoke about it again. At that time in my life, I was so tired of myself not having the courage to challenge myself and try new things. I was stuck in my comfort zone And was determined to get out of it. So I took her up on that offer… I went down to New York City and did a drop for the show and everyone told me I did a great job and nailed it on the first try… my sister told me I looked great on camera and she really thinks that I should do this so I said ok about seven months in I decided to start my own brand and show after realizing that I no longer want to work under someone anymore and how I wanted to be my own boss and that’s how I came up with my own television show called Remi TV which focuses on positive interviews with great fun topics. I interview celebrities, businesses owners and various talent.. my show is special because I only focus on the positive and leave the negativity for the blogs I love to uplift others and give those who feel like they don’t have a voice to be heard and now my show is getting ready to launch on a major streaming platform and I am super excited about it I will be annoying what platform in August as for right now my show airs in different cities on the local access channel.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road for me and sometimes it still isn’t one of my struggles was getting people to support my show and believe in what I’m trying to achieve. I wanted to bring more diversity to the television screen in my city and state Since I am the only black-owned television media outlet here doing what I do. But I learned along the way that the only people who matter is the ones who do support. Another big challenge when I first started was how am I going to maintain my show and keep people interested I had to really sit down and ask friends and family members what do they love and hate about television shows and what would they like to see from a show like mine.

Remi TV – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I have a television show that I produce and host I interview celebrity’s business owners various talent etc. anybody you can name I will interview them I also have segments on my show where I talk about important topics and things happening around the world As well as get the girls And guys together and get a little spicy with my relationship topics. Something else I did before the pandemic was I had started the Remi TV talk show with a live studio audience I had special guests and gave out a ton of prizes to my audience members I had crowd participation and we talked about some serious topics and not so serious but because of the pandemic I was only able to do one show and I hope to pick back up when this is over the special thing about my show is that I do nothin but positive interviews I will never ask anything negative or anything that’s going to make my guest upset and that’s what separates me from other shows.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career was stepping out of my comfort zone and actually moving forward with my own show I was afraid that people would hate it or laugh at me I was thinking the worst I use to tell myself people will never support me. I believe that these are the thoughts that make people not take the first step.
