Today we’d like to introduce you to Merri Sparacio.
Merri, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My husband is an Engineer and was a home-brewer for many years. We decided to take it to the next level approx seven years ago. He is now a full-time brewer.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth for the most part. The past year has been interesting. Several breweries have opened within a five mile radius. When we started, the zoning laws were different. We had to be in a “Manufacturing” zone. Breweries are now allowed to operate in commercial zones. While great for them, it makes our location a little more difficult to capture the walking/drive-by traffic.
Timeless Pints Brewing Company – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We were the first and still the only microbrewery in Lakewood. We were very fortunate to be the only game in town for the first five years. We appreciate the dedication and perseverance it takes to open, operate and maintain a brewery. We make great beer, have a loyal fan base and really enjoy what we do. Each brewery has something different and unique about it. We appreciate our competition and work hard to maintain a loyal following. Our team goes above & beyond to make the customer experience the best it can be. We are proud to say we were and still are the first brewery in Lakewood as well as the only brewery in the Lakewood/Long Beach area located in a manufacturing zone.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The day we opened our doors and the amount of people that showed up (and continue to show up) on a daily basis.
