Meet Kevin Emamian of The Haus in Sherman Oaks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Emamian.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Kevin. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Two years ago my business partner, Stephen Adams, and I took a leap of faith to start our own state of the art automotive repair facility. With a commanding thirty years of automotive experience between the both us, we built a business based on honesty and integrity. We were able to rapidly excel in cut-throat dealership environments in Los Angeles. This experience has provided the basis of our ability to provide top notch customer service. With little funding and no prior business ownership, we set out to find a set of warehouses that could be used as an automotive repair facility. We needed a facility that would be large enough to mimic a mid to large sized dealership, with a showroom and customer lounge. We chose to specialize in BMW and Mini Cooper due to our love for both brands. Focusing on a niche specialty gives customers a boost of confidence, in knowing they are able to get their car fixed with the same parts for a lower price, by a mastered technician. Six months later we found a car enthused landlord who owned two warehouses side by side. Our landlord took a huge chance on us first-time business owner, and we could not be more thankful to have established and continue to foster a relationship with him. I always remember how many friends and family would share their opinions of how long it would take to begin to profit. I also remember how many people shared their own stories with me of trials and tribulations of a first year business owner. With our backs against the wall, and without a plan B, we’ve successfully had a revenue growth of 400%, hired 4 technicians, and are planning to expand to a second location by the end of 2017.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The struggle is real for all young entrepreneurs. It’s never a smooth road, especially at the beginning. Waking up every morning, back against the wall, figuring out what customer is going to walk through the door and spend any money at all. The struggle of being able to be found on Google, page 1 to be specific. The struggle of wondering when the phone will ever ring. The struggle of having enough money to pay the rent to keep the doors open. All these factors all lead to quality traits that make young entrepreneurs stronger.

The Haus is an independently owned and operated German and European automotive service & body shop in Sherman Oaks, California. Our company repairs and maintains all models of Mini & BMW luxury vehicles at extremely competitive rates.

The Haus was founded in 2014 by Kevin and Steve, two automotive enthusiasts to who came together to turn their passions into careers by starting a luxury repair & service center. They desired an opportunity to work on the cars that they loved since their youth and combined their extensive knowledge, and decades of collective experience to form the premier service shop in Southern California.
