Meet Sam Pablo of Noble Vision Films in Long Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam Pablo.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Sam. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Born and raised in Hawaii, I come from a performing background. I worked for Disney for ten years playing Aladdin at the Hyperion Theater at Disney’s California Adventure. I also was a spokesperson for the Aulani Resort which is the hotel Disney built on Oahu. I started a youtube channel doing vlogs with friends. One friend was about to get married and his, now wife, asked if I could shoot their wedding video. I showed up with a little point and shoot camera and cut together a wedding video that was pretty good for the equipment and experience level I had. Their wedding planner asked me to shoot her daughter’s birthday, then another friend asked me to shoot a promo for his DJing business. I eventually realized I found another creative outlet that I was passionate about. I jumped in head first, bought a ton of gear, went to the school of youtube. Noble Vision Films was born.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been smooth sailing. There were a lot of learning curves to overcome. While I felt I already had a good creative eye there were many basic things about shooting video I had to learn. I had to learn the basics of cinematography, lighting, sound, how to use my new camera, and new editing techniques. Also, I had to start learning about what it meant to own a business. I always saw myself as a creative and not necessarily as a business person, so there was a lot to learn when I first started. Sometimes it felt like my brain was going to explode with all the new info I was learning.

Noble Vision Films – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
So far with Noble Vision Films I’ve done a wide variety of projects. I’ve done wedding videos, music videos, Instagram sizzle reels, promos for businesses, real-estate, interviews, behind the scenes videos, and so forth. My specialty is being able to take any project whether a wedding video or a business promotion and find the story in it. You can have amazing visuals but without a story you lack the key ingredient that moves people. I’m most proud of the fact that I was able to build NVF from the ground up with limited resources. Even though I never went to formal film school, I was able to learn everything online, and I can now produce professional quality work. I think the thing that sets me apart from my competition is my background as a performer. The experience and knowledge I gained from the 20 plus years I spent as a performer truly gives me a unique creative perspective that I now take behind the camera to produce outstanding video content.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I created a promo video for a business encapsulating their work over the past couple years. They showed it at their company anniversary party. After, one of the employees told me he cried because the video showed the culmination of his hard work and really captured the heart and soul of all the effort he had put into the company.
