Meet Trailblazer Alexandra Beltran

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Beltran.

Alexandra, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My journey with photography hasn’t been a long one. For six years now, I’ve been capturing the beauty in life and it’s made me feel alive.

I’ve made the greatest friends pursuing this art and am able to keep the most precious moments around forever.

My love for taking photographs started in 2012. I would run around my neighborhood as a young teen photographing anything that interested me.

Now 22, I’m able to monetize my passion and capture art for brides, young companies, couples, models, brands, etc. — and of course, share my talent with all my close friends.

I’m always sure my friends have amazing Instagram feeds, haha!

It’s truly the greatest feeling to pay the bills doing something you love.

I’ve still got a long way to go pursuing the dream of photographing for a high fashion brand, but for now, I’m going to keep my head down, focus, and make the best art possible.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been an easy journey getting to where I am.
My first jobs working in customer service have definitely helped prepare me for selling my skills and working with clientele as a Photographer.
For anyone interested in pursuing any passion and especially for anyone interested in starting a business; the largest obstacle will be to “just start.”
Be prepared to be uncomfortable.
That was and still is a constant challenge for myself: Putting myself into situations to meet people I have never met, and sell my skills and services.
If I gave into my anxiety of meeting new people and being “uncomfortable,” I would have never made the connections I have, I wouldn’t be in the same place financially and I would have never had the chance to prove to myself that “I am more powerful and brave, than I thought.”
Stepping outside your comfort zone will open your eyes and help your self-confidence more than you can imagine!

Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of. What sets you apart from others?
I am a freelance Photographer in SoCal.
I am known for my Personal Photoshoot sessions where I capture clients in their favorite outfits.
What I am most proud of and what sets myself apart from others is my ability to make my muse/model/client comfortable in front of the camera almost immediately. I take pride in just being a good person and my ability to capture the beauty in everyone.

My favorite part of photoshoots is, of course, having fun during taking photographs, but especially when my clients receive their images. When they are astounded with how amazing “they” look in their photographs.
When I can give someone a renewed sense of self-love by seeing themself portrayed in such a beautiful and artistic way… is the most amazing feeling!

Which women have inspired you in your life?
My mother, first and foremost.
I was blessed with an amazing family that supported my aspirations and ever-changing passions fully and gave me the lessons and things I need to function in the real world.
She also gave me my first real camera, (a canon rebel t5i) which I had used religiously for 4/5 years before personally investing in my current photographic weapon of mass artistic destruction ✨.
She’s been there for me countless times, shown me unconditional love, and taught me how to be powerful and love myself.
And for everything, I can’t thank you enough mom!

Other women that inspire me are some of my close friends, Ally and Amanda.
Ally @bloody_wallfl0wer on Instagram is an amazing person that truly follows her heart and is extremely talented artistically. She’s the perfect example of femme power and I freaking love her for that. She emanates the idea, “Do what you want, dress how you want, express yourself how you want and be yourself because you can, and who cares.” And that’s the best and coolest way to live.

My other good friend Amanda Zizzo @bodybyzizzo (Insta) is another strong example of a GirlBoss. She runs her own fitness training business, she’s an amazing fitness athlete, plus she’s going to be an amazing mother very soon while doing all of this!

She emanates female power, drive, and determination. She sets her sights on high goals and works hard to get there. Nothing is going to stop her and that’s the baddest thing ever! 🔥
