Meet Heidi Lish of Delish Body in Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heidi Lish.

Heidi, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I had been wanting to open my own business for some time. I had several ideas, but all of which I needed a financial investor. I kept hitting road blocks and realized I didn’t want anyone having control over my business or decisions, so I set out on finding something I felt passionate about and that I could do on my OWN…I was living in Las Vegas at the time, and spray tanning is very popular there as it is here. People are realizing how damaging the sun and tanning beds are, including myself, I had been a product of tanning beds growing up and could now see the sun damage rearing its ugly head. I still wanted to be tan but didn’t want to continue putting my health and body at risk. I started looking into spray tanning as a business and then had a dream about it. I felt strongly this would be something I would not only be good at but most importantly enjoy! I looked for proper training, and found a place I felt was the most reputable right here in LA, the Hollywood Airbrush Tanning Academy and off I went! She provided me with so many tools, not just a flawless technique, but business tools and how to make my business a success. It was honestly the best most empowering thing I’ve ever done for myself. That was a little over two years ago, I have come a long way, but I am just getting started!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I have to say it’s been fairly smooth. However spray tanning does have a slow season during the colder months, but we are lucky here in LA with the entertainment industry because someone always has an audition or photo shoot to look great for!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Delish Body – what should we know?
I am a custom mobile airbrush tanning company, What that means is, when you tan with me you will get a customized tan based on several questions I ask you, like how does your skin tan in the sun? or how dark do you want to be? Then I will look at your undertones, are you cool or warm? All of these things are very important to give you what you are looking for and to not turn you orange! What I am not, is a one solution suit all type of place. As a former makeup artist, I love this part of determining a solution that will look best for you! Often times I will have more than one that will work for you, I will recommend what I think is best but can always make adjustments based on your needs. I have several brands I work with and in those brands several different solutions. I pride myself in giving you exactly what you are looking for, be it a slight glow or St. Tropez brown. Being mobile means I can come to you- I have sprayed people at home, work or at a hotel. It takes approximately 30 min from the time I arrive to the time I leave. Best thing is you will never know I was there and it’s convenient and very private. I also feel what sets me apart is the fact I’m a perfectionist and take so much pride in what I do, I want you looking and feeling you’re very best as my clients are my billboard!
