Meet Kristina Wenninger of Permanently Perfect Makeup By Kristina in Pasadena

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristina Wenninger.

Kristina is a permanent makeup artist that lives and works in Los Angeles. She is trained in the field of esthetics and, in 2000, obtained her professional license and began practicing as an esthetician, makeup artist, and eyebrow specialist. Following that, her love of science and helping others led her toward a career in health care. She worked in the field of ophthalmology as an assistant for five years. During this time, she also began freelancing in the photography and cosmetic fields, including makeup artistry for fashion shows.

Kristina’s career in permanent makeup artistry began in 2010 after she received permanent makeup herself. She loved the look and convenience of her permanent eyebrows and eyeliner. Kristina also knew that her artistic talents and background in the medical field would be the perfect combination for a practice in permanent makeup. Kristina consistently provided outstanding patient care during her time working in health care and her talents have been well-regarded in the beauty industry. Her commitment to excellence has continued in her permanent makeup business where she is a recognized industry leader, educator, and artist.

Throughout her permanent makeup career, she has worked with various methods and devices, including Longtime Liner, Nouveau Contour, Cheyenne Hawk, Biotek and NPM before finally discovering her preferred choice for a permanent makeup system in the Amiea Linelle Supreme system. After a long period of first-hand testing, Kristina is confident that the Amiea system is the optimum choice for the American cosmetic tattooing marketplace. Amiea has been developing and producing innovative devices, pigments, and other products in international markets for more than 20 years. Kristina finds that the combination of state of the art craftsmanship and exquisite results can be relied upon time and time again.

Kristina is also an expert in the field of dermal needling. In 2014, Mrs. Wenninger was a keynote speaker on the topic of Micro-Needling in the Permanent Makeup Artist’s practice at the European Congress of Aesthetic Medicine in Moscow, Russia. At Biotek’s first Worldwide Permanent Makeup Event in Stresa, Italy, Kristina was the sole speaker representing the U.S. during which she educated her permanent makeup colleagues on the topic of dermal needling.

In January 2014, Kristina made her mark in permanent makeup education history by offering the first class in the U.S. to bring together four of the world’s top performing permanent makeup artists – Anna Savina, Anya Zabolotnaya, Mary Ritcherson and Nataliya Yeremenko. The “Brows, Lips and Micro Needling Super Master Classes” were held in Hollywood, California and drew students from around the world. The educational opportunity offered students not only the chance to learn from respected permanent makeup artists but also afforded them hands-on learning with live models. This was the first class of its kind in the U.S. and spurred a global effort amongst top permanent makeup artists to offer more educational options for students to learn their unique and forward-thinking techniques.

In July 2014, Kristina partnered with Biotek Italy for a five-day event series of classes to introduce headlining master artists Anna Savina and Tatiana Petraitis to permanent makeup artists from across the U.S. Students converged in downtown Los Angeles to learn “Butterfly Eyeliner, Three-Dimensional Hair Stroke, and Baby Doll Lips” techniques. Upon the successful completion of the 60 student venture, these new techniques gained popularity among the permanent makeup industry and have given the students who attended a competitive edge over other artists in their areas.

In November, Kristina coordinated her final master class for the year 2014, also in Los Angeles. She brought European Artist, Daria Chuprys to center stage so that she could share the “Micro Blading” technique, which has been gaining popularity within the industry. As always, the master class included the option to work on live models, which gave the technicians the highest probability of truly learning the techniques of each unique Master trainer. Kristina crafts her training events around what she has learned is the best way to truly grasp certain advanced permanent makeup concepts.

Kristina utilizes a permanent makeup technique which is vastly unique compared to other artists in California. She has traveled to Europe to learn from her favorite master artist in the world. She brings back a combination of skills which enables her to create the most realistic looking eyebrows possible. Kristina’s top priority has always been to gain the best training which will enable her to perfect her technique so that she may offer her clients the absolute best. Kristina will continue to strive for perfection in her art as long as she works in the field of permanent cosmetics. Her philosophy is that she will only perform work on someone else which is good enough to have on her own face. Before each client, I say a little prayer that the work turn out as perfect as possible and it seems to be working out pretty well to this date!

Although still busy with her permanent makeup practice in Pasadena called Permanently Perfect Makeup, Kristina still makes time each day to play trains and hide and seek with her five-year-old son. She enjoys photography, dance, singing and personal development. She finds great rewards in working in the field of permanent cosmetics and continually strives to improve the lives of those she meets through her multi-faceted businesses. Professionalism and client-satisfaction are Kristina’s primary goals. She takes great care in listening to all preferences and concerns and strives to produce the most beautiful, natural looking, and long-lasting permanent makeup possible.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In the beginning, I found it difficult to obtain thorough training which allowed me to fee confident in my permanent makeup skills. After training with the best in Europe I finally felt 100% confident!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My philosophy for my business is basically to provide the absolute best to each and every one of my clients without fail. If it means I spend 3 hours with one person then that is exactly what I’m going to do. I understand how big a decision it is to allow another person to alter your physical appearance and that sort of decision should not be taken lightly. If someone chooses me to perform their permanent makeup I take it very seriously and make it my top priority to perform with intense focus for each individual I’m given the honor to work on. I want to make sure and add value to this person’s life and never take away.

I specialize in permanent makeup hair stroke brows, airbrushed shaded brows, full lip color, sleek and trend conscious eyeliner designs, permanent makeup removal, and dermal needling.

I’m most proud that throughout the years I’ve improved the lives of many women by giving them all at least 15 minutes back every morning or however much time it might have spent them to draw those brows in every day! I find this to be very rewarding knowing that I’ve made someone’s everyday life better and less stressful.

I think what sets me apart from the rest of the pack is that I do not treat my permanent makeup business like a mill. I choose to see only a couple of people each day so that I may spend the time necessary to bring forth a creation that was not rushed in any way. I don’t think art can be created on the fly and each client deserves my time and attention to every finite detail. I feel I’ve created a sort of winning formula which gives my clients the comfort in knowing that they are not just a number to be added to my bottom line at the end of the month. Each client knows by the time they leave that I’ve given them 100% of my best effort, attention to comfort during the procedure, and utilized my vast skillset to provide them the best experience I possibly could have given them.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I participated in ballet, all forms of dance, piano, soccer, played the sax and flute and enjoyed being active most of the time. I didn’t realize my artistic and makeup skills until I received my esthetician license in my 20’s and began working at a makeup studio in Winter Park, Florida. There I discovered my great love for eyebrows. The owner of the shop taught me how truly different a person can look if their eyebrows were properly shaped.

Hi! I heard that you have a tool that removes brown spots. Can you tell me what it is and how it works? I’m interested in having some removed but would like to know about the process and cost.
    Thank you!
