Meet Lacie Armstrong of Producer & Entertainment Broadcaster

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lacie Armstrong.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I grew up in Bakersfield, CA wanting to pursue a career in Geologic Engineering but my God-given destiny said otherwise. After graduating with two Associate Degrees (Communications and Liberal Studies) at Bakersfield College, I transferred to Cal State LA to pursue a career in the Entertainment Industry. I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Television-Film-Media opt. Broadcast Journalism in May of 2018. I have had the pleasure of working in-front-of and behind-the-camera on Music Videos, News Reporting, Commercials, TV-Shows and more.

Has it been a smooth road?
Like anything in life, there are highs and lows but that is apart of the journey. If the road was smooth, there would be no growth. The industry is tough but I find it helps not to focus on the negative but believe in the positive. What works for me is having good work ethic and doing every job with a smile (whether you like it or not). People notice good work ethic and it’s a great way to make contacts, which can take you further in the industry. Without contacts, it can be challenging to break into certain aspects of the industry, but whatever is meant to be, will be. Although the road has been stressful, I love what I do and I wouldn’t change it for the world!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Producer & News/Entertainment Broadcaster story. Tell us more about the business.
Most people will tell you it’s important to pick one area of the industry and master it. I on the other hand believe being a jack of all trades keeps things interesting and you receive more opportunities. I am currently focusing on Entertainment/News Broadcasting along with Production Coordinating. I’ve had news packages aired on LA36, just finished producing quality controlled content on The Masters Golf Tournament and I have been seen on Ellen, Let’s Make a Deal, Dave & Busters Indie Nights Film Festivals and more. I am beyond grateful for all of the opportunities given to me. Shoutout to my family, friends, co-workers and team for making things happen.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The industry is changing constantly, not always positively, but there is change. I am hoping to see: more intelligent celebrities use their platform to bring awareness to politics and controversial topics; women thriving in the industry as equally paid/hiring opportunities individuals, idea of the “perfect body”, giving back to the community ect. I want to be apart of the ever-changing industry in my own way. My end goal is to one day have my own talk show. Until then, please reach out and hire me for all of your News/Film/TV/Entertainment needs either in front of or behind the camera! or just sign me for my talk show.
